City of Indianapolis - Department of Metropolitan Development ’s Post

Today, Mayor Joe Hogsett joined Indy Continuum of Care and housing partners to announce $11.9 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s annual Continuum of Care Program. The award represents a 20% increase from last year’s award, and over 170% increase since 2016. In July 2023, Indy DMD and Indy Continuum of Care issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) calling for more equitable, permanent housing options across Marion County. The RFP specifically called for more permanent supportive housing and innovation solutions for chronic and unsheltered homelessness. Among the awardees were COALITION FOR HOMELESSNESS INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OF GREATER INDIANAPOLIS INC., Horizon House, Partners In Housing Development Corporation, and Damien Center - all committing funds to housing first approaches to achieve housing stability across the city’s most vulnerable populations.
