Thank you notes may seem like a quaint gesture from bygone days. But think about it - how do you feel when someone sincerely says they appreciate you? Countless studies show that genuine gratitude matters at work. 🙌 And there are countless ways to make a "thank you" more meaningful. This article from Harvard Business Review echoes the same advice my friends at gThankYou! have been sharing for years. (For instance, I love the tips in their guide, "Writing Thank You Notes Employees Will Treasure" 👉 https://lnkd.in/gRnCHK3s.) Have you tried putting any of these simple habits into practice? What results have you seen? I'd love to hear what you've experienced by expressing appreciation for employees, peers, customers, or others. I was brought up in a very similar manner…. I was always required to send a thank you note to express my gratitude for any gift or gesture received. Now, I find myself passing on this tradition to my son, and I believe it's as important as ever. In today's fast-paced world, the art of saying "thank you" has become a rare but powerful gesture. Recently, I came across a post from someone at a major company lamenting the decline in thank you emails following interviews. This highlights just how impactful a simple thank you can be. This article by Sally Susman beautifully underscores the value of expressing appreciation. Regardless of your role or the reason for the note, a thank you is always valued. For those currently navigating job interviews, do not forget to send a thank you email or leave a note at the front desk before you depart. A prompt, heartfelt, and specific thank you can influence your candidacy. There is a time limit on this one though. If you are sending an email, send it within 24 hours of your interview. In an era marked by ghosting and uncertainty, a small effort to show gratitude can make a big difference in both professional and personal realms. How do you feel about thank you emails or notes? Is this something you regularly practice and/or appreciate?
