Swedish Arkion secures $4 million to revolutionize power grid inspections with AI Stockholm-based startup Arkion (formerly Skyqraft), has successfully raised $4 million to enhance its AI-driven software designed for inspecting overhead power lines. The Stockholm-based company is on a mission to transform the energy sector by providing innovative solutions for power grid maintenance and management. The recent funding round was spearheaded by Subvenio Invest, with additional backing from Neptunia Invest and Antler. Last month, the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit showcased groundbreaking climate tech innovations, from electric-propulsion airplane engines to super-strong wood planks. Despite the excitement, many projects may not achieve traditional success metrics, as ARPA-E focuses on high-potential yet risky technologies. Recently, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has shifted its vision from launching pre-seed startups to helping them scale and deploy, offering numerous support resources.
