We’ve only gone and done it again! 🥳 Our research on the accuracy and impact of our AI as a medical device, DERM, has been published in Frontiers in Medicine, dermatology section🔬 To be of clinical value, DERM must safely reduce referral rates. As such, the primary objective of this study was to demonstrate that DERM had a higher rate of correctly classifying lesions that did not need to be referred for biopsy or urgent face-to-face dermatologist review, compared to teledermatology standard of care. And the results proved this - significantly. DERM was able to correctly identify pre-malignant and benign lesions significantly more frequently than teledermatologists. DERM has the potential to reduce the burden of referrals and biopsies when used as part of a teledermatology service.
