📢 🚌 All aboard the Incisive Health battle bus! 🚌 📢 Our next stop is Aylesbury, a constituency being thrust into a proper election battle for the first time in over a century. Could the birthplace of the Paralympics produce a gold medal election moment? A traditional Tory heartland, Aylesbury is one of just 94 UK constituencies to have only returned a Conservative MP in the last 100 years. And yet, poll after poll is showing a tightly fought contest – could this brick in the ‘blue wall’ turn red? The Labour challenger Laura Kyrke-Smith is hoping the MRPs are right and her first campaign as a PPC ends in an historic result, while the incumbent Rob Butler is fighting to ensure election night feels much more normal – in this corner of Buckinghamshire at the very least. If you have any questions for the team, or a suggestion for where our bus should visit next, get in touch via [email protected]. #GE2024 #Election2024 #UKPolitics

After 14 years in Opposition, the #British electorate has once again lent its vote to #Labour. #SirKeirStarmer is the UK’s new #PM. And so begins the “night shift” for the #ConservativeParty. The decade-long political drama of this #HouseofCards spanning 5 Party leaders, #Brexit and the #ScottishReferendum, an unprecedented prorogation of a modern #UKParliament, #COVID, #Partygate, and the eventual loss of an 80-seat majority are a chilling reminder that all power is indeed transient and an elected Premier, being primus inter pares is only “first among equals”. And so to Labour’s newfound majority of 172 - an urgent reminder that large majorities can quite often be fractious, that there is no such thing as a “safe seat” anymore, and that the cycles of discontent grind inexorably towards winter regardless of season. To paraphrase #EnochPowell “…all political lives, unless cut off in midstream at some happy juncture, end in failure”. It is indeed the “nature of politics and of human affairs”. Only the monarch and the mandarins survive. To The Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer KC - All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his lifetime may indeed play many parts. #10DowningStreet #UKElection2024 #GE2024 #GeneralElection2024 #RishiSunak #KeirStarmer #UKConservative #UKLabour

My view of the upcoming European elections and the European Football Championship, which starts next week, is characterised by pride in the diversity and cultural enrichment in my country and throughout Europe. Only together are we strong! It is important to present our identity and our symbols with care and to always reflect critically. How can we stand up for diversity, equality and an open-minded Europe without supporting right-wing tendencies? Let's think and discuss these questions together. How can we promote an inclusive society and proudly display our national identity? How can we set an example while ensuring that our values are preserved? Let's use these European elections and the upcoming European Championships to send a strong signal in favour of unity, diversity and respect! 🌍🌈🇩🇪 /use your vote 🗳️🇪🇺 #euelections2024 #eu #europawahl2024

🚀 Big news in New Zealand politics! Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is shaking things up with some bold moves, sacking two ministers for poor performance after just five months. This unprecedented action signals Luxon's commitment to high standards and tangible results from his government. The public's response? It's overwhelmingly positive, with many seeing Luxon's decisive leadership as a breath of fresh air in a political landscape often marred by complacency. Newstalk ZB broadcaster Heather du Plessis-Allan praises Luxon's approach, highlighting how it contrasts with past administrations that tolerated underperformance for too long. Luxon's willingness to take swift and decisive action reflects a growing sentiment among voters who are tired of politicians failing to deliver on their promises. Luxon's strong stance on performance management reflects a changing tide in politics, where accountability and action are becoming increasingly valued by the electorate. As New Zealand faces various challenges, from economic recovery to public health, Luxon's leadership style is resonating with those who are eager to see real progress and tangible outcomes. This move is not just about politics—it's about setting a new standard for governance in New Zealand. #NewZealandPolitics #ChristopherLuxon #GovernmentPerformance #PoliticalRoundup @HeatherduPlessisAllan www.techonwheels.co.nz 🌐

WITHOUT A NEW WORLD CONSTITUTION THERE SHALL NEVER BE ANY EFFECTIVE ACTION!!! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU ALL? I WOULD LIKE ALL NATIONAL GOVERNMENTS WORLDWIDE TO REQUEST A UN HEARING ON INTERFACE GOVERNANCE AS A SUGGESTION FOR A NEW WORLD CONSTITUTION. IF SECRETARY-GENERAL GUTERRES STILL REFUSES, ALLOW ME TO SUGGEST THAT WE ORGANISE THIS UNIQUE WORLD WORKSHOP FOR A WORLD RENAISSANCE ELSEWHERE. 1. Our civilisation tried the United Nations concept to connect the dots for better world governance: failure. 2. Talent & Strategy @ Mercer (ex-Spencer Stuart International) | Culture Change, Inclusion, eX & Employee Engagement
🌟 A New Dawn for the UK! 🌟 Congratulations to Keir Starmer and the Labour Party (UK) on their historic victory in the 2024 #UKGeneralElection! This triumph is not just a political win, but a testament to a vision led by empathy, passion, resilience, and strong willpower to make a real difference. Over the past 5+ years, the Labour Party has undergone significant internal change, showcasing unwavering dedication and a relentless pursuit of progress. Since the austerity measures of 2008, our infrastructure has suffered greatly, impacting every corner of the country. This victory highlights the crucial importance of our public services and the need to rebuild and strengthen them for the future. John Kotter once said, "The greatest success in leading transformational change comes from developing a clear vision and a sense of purpose that includes everyone." The Labour Party’s journey embodies this philosophy, demonstrating that inclusive leadership and a shared sense of purpose are key to driving impactful change. This is not just a new chapter for Westminster but a new chapter for our country and for all of us. It’s a clear message that we are stronger together, united as titans ready to forge a brighter future. Here’s to new records, new beginnings, and a renewed hope for the UK! 🎉 #LabourVictory2024 #KeirStarmer #UKPolitics #PublicServices #StrongerTogether #NewBeginnings #Resilience #VisionAndEmpathy #UnitedTitans #HistoricWin #FutureForward #PurposeAndInclusion

All change, behold the 2024 ‘Red Wave’, led by Sir Keir Starmer ? YouGov are projecting that The Labour Party will get the biggest majority in 100 years, 194 seats, with 422 seats in total versus 140 seats for the Tories, the lowest number for the Conservatives since 1906. With a lot of potential high-profile defeats, including for Jeremy Hunt, Grant Shapps, Penny Mordaunt & Jacob Rees-Mogg, to name but a few of the ‘big blue beasts’. And this projection was before Nigel Farage did his ‘u-turn’, deciding yesterday to stand as a Reform UK candidate in sunny Clacton, and taking the reins of his Let's Make Britain Great (Brexit) party. ‘Nigel’, a name of Celtic origin, coming from ‘Niall’, means ‘champion’ or ‘hero’ – OK. The meaning of the name ‘Farage’ is more difficult to pin down, ranging from ‘cutter’ to ‘healer’ to ‘face of a frog’ – I’m guessing today’s milkshake thrower in Essex thinks it’s the latter! ‘MRP’ is of course 'multilevel regression with poststratification', a term for you to drop in the pub this evening. It’s a statistical technique used for correcting estimates for known differences between sample population (the population of the data you have), and a target population (a population you would like to estimate for)...please direct any questions you have to YouGov who used this technique previously to successfully predict the overall outcome of the 2017 UK general election, correctly predicting the result in 93% of constituencies...so change is coming people! And, as Alan Watts, the English writer used to say: 'The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.' #change #generalelection2024 #multilevelregressionwithpoststratification

Great talk this evening from Richard Denniss and the Australia Institute! I have a renewed passion for democracy. I particularly loved "Democracy thrives on high expectations." I have recently been feeling very disheartened about the state of our democracy but as was pointed out tonight, neolibraism wins if we are cynical about democracy. If we don't demand what we want from our elected representatives, the only interests they will be representing will be big business and fossil fuel companies. Inequality is our collective choice, we can choose nuclear submarines or we can choose free childcare, healthcare and education. What do you choose and how will you influence your elected representatives? Even if they are not the ones you voted for, or rather, especially if they are not the ones you voted for. Do you choose AUD14 billion per annum to subsidise the fossil fuel industry or free uni? Elected officials care about what we ask them for because we decide their fate at the next election. Even when only a relatively small number of us demand that thing. You have the power to choose equality. #Democracy #Equality #Politics #Change #Economics #HumanRights

Celebrating the power of consistency! 💪 I was thinking about the previous year and it seems that my 2023 was not filled with spectacular successes… bad news, good news? Who knows? The truth is our life is made of relatively small decision points. Insignificant when single but consistent efforts add up over time. Just like the votes add up… one of my favourite sentences of 2023 is: „My vote doesn't count said 7 million women voters” - this sentence we repeated in Poland before the parliamentary elections, the elections with historic turnout at above 74%. Last year I went to the gym at least 140 times. Despite not seeing drastic changes on the scale, I'm proud of my commitment to regular exercise. After all, I was able to eat some great desserts 🧁 with impunity, and this is one of my motivations for exercise :-) Have a great 2024! With spectacular achievements or a series of consistent „small” actions :-) #ConsistencyGivesJoy #transformation #OrangetheoryFitness
