The best software engineers aren’t necessarily the best programmers. They excel in other areas: clear communication, simplifying complexity, building consensus, and making the right tradeoffs. What’s benefited me the most is a growth mindset. From my early days in artist management to my current role at Twitch, putting my ego aside to learn and achieve the best results for the customer has been crucial. At Twitch, I've been both humbled and hyped by the experience. How do you overcome fear of your first playtest if you’ve never done a playtest? A few things that helped me: • the goal of playtesting is to find mistakes • that the feedback isn’t in charge • that the more you do it, the easier it gets Playtesting empowers you -- if you let it grow you

DISCIPLINE. DISCIPLINE. DISCIPLINE. This year, I have minimized Netflix and gaming. Totally cut off doom scrolling. Productivity rose to insane levels. Would never come back. ✅ More time creating. ✅ More time reading. ✅ More time learning. ✅ And ultimately more time growing. Don't waste most of your energy to unproductive stuff. ✅ Your time is limited. ✅ Your energy is limited.
