For National Kindey Month, AJMC is relaunching our CKD Stakeholder Summit series that launched on AJMC.com late last year. For that discussion we worked with some of the top experts in CKD, overall cardiometabolic health and population health. This first episode we are highlighting features Dr, Susanne Nicholas from UCLA who is leading in trying to identify patients at risk of CKD (as well as a number of other comorbidities) earlier in the disease. Really interesting article and graphic. It is so important not just to have national policies to combat these but policies that recognise these gender differences.

Tailored approaches to disease prevention and treatment recognize that each individual has unique characteristics that influence their health and response to treatment. Moving toward individualized care aligns interventions with patient-specific risk factors, improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare while moving away from a less effective one-size-fits-all model.
