Looking into the last week of #COP28 The first week of COP28 UAE is now well completed, and tomorrow we begin week two. We are looking into a second week, which, like week one, will be packed with inspirational and insightful events, discussions, and panels, where the Denmark Pavilion will convene industry leaders, policymakers, and investors at #DKCOP28. The #cop28 Presidency is leading the Global Cooling Pledge in collaboration with the Cool Coalition, an initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). These targets focus on reducing emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, adopting climate-friendly cooling approaches, and expanding access to sustainable cooling for vulnerable populations. This week the Greenhouse team will be travelling to Dubai for #COP28.   In the context of this morning’s headlines, it can be hard to feel optimistic about the progress that will be made on the global stage over the next two weeks.   But when I look at the work our team is doing at the conference - giving a voice to nature, protecting our oceans, amplifying the experiences of children and youth, helping build global resilience, putting food systems at the centre of negotiations, and bringing multiple faiths together in a united call for action - I find myself approaching COP28 with a defiant sense of hope.   COP28 is as much about the individuals and communities that come together to call for change as it is about the high-level negotiations. Without the countless coalitions of governments, businesses, financial institutions and civil society actors that galvanise around the conference, we would have no hope of progress.   The team at Greenhouse will use COP28 to do what we do best - drive real impact through powerful collaborations that hold global leaders to account, ensuring they make the right decisions on behalf of future generations.   We’ll be documenting progress on our socials - make sure to follow @Greenhouse Communications for updates. Today, the Inogen Alliance Global Sustainability Working Group hosted an insightful internal roundtable discussion on key outcomes from the COP28 conference. Laura Kirkvold of Antea Group USA facilitated a panel discussion with our Alliance team members that attended the Dubai event in person. The team shared their perspectives on key outcomes of COP28, and the anticipated impacts that COP progress will have on climate change mitigation, the work and expertise of our teams, and the solutions that we deliver to our clients. The team was encouraged by the level of ambition and dynamism during the conference in Dubai, but also emphasized that there is tremendous effort and focus required to continue to address climate-related challenges and the growing needs for expertise in fields such as biodiversity, indigenous populations, anthropology, climate financing, greenhouse gas accounting, and renewable energy. Thanks to our contributors who attended COP28 in Dubai both with an Inogen Alliance side event, official roles within COP delegation and negotiations and COP Youth Delegates. COP28 President Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber emphasized collective power to achieve unprecedented solutions for climate action, stressing flexibility and consensus toward the 1.5℃ goal.
