Bleeding from GI tumors has been a therapeutic challenge because of the high rate of unsuccessful hemostasis using a conventional endoscopic approach and studies have shown that the rebleeding and mortality rates are higher after emergency surgery where immediate hemostasis was difficult to achieve. New data from this multicenter, controlled trial of 106 patients in 9 centers, shows that our hemostatic powder has a significantly lower 30-day rebleed rate compared to SET (Standard Endoscopic Treatment). Endometriosis is a common condition that affects as many as one in every 10 women. It is a very complex and challenging disease that is not fully understood. Sadly, it can take up to 7 years for a woman with endometriosis to get diagnosed. This is because symptoms of endo often overlap or mimic other common conditions like bowel and bladder dysfunction or pelvic inflammatory disease. Also, because endo can only be definitively diagnosed through laparoscopic surgery, this may not be recommended or pursued early in the diagnostic process. Common symptoms of endometriosis include pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during intercourse, heavy or irregular periods, fatigue, bloating, bowel or bladder pain, and infertility. Today we talked about catamenial pneumothorax at ‘39• Congresso de Pneumologia’. As part of the Thoracic Surgery Committee of Pulmonology Society I want to thank all the participants. TES (Thoracis Endometriosis Syndrome), although rare, can produce incapacitating clinical manifestations, and because of the variability in its presentation, a high level of clinical suspicion is necessary to provide a timely diagnosis and reduce the likelihood of disease progression. As for the treatment, a multidisciplinary approach is the gold standard.

Pancreatic surgery has a high rate of complications 1,2 (check the references in the comments), with postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) being widely regarded as the most ominous of complications 3.
