We believe entrepreneurship isn't just about starting businesses; it's about solving problems and creating value. In the context of South Africa's economic landscape, we see entrepreneurship as a powerful catalyst for transformation. Through our Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) services, we've had the privilege of supporting emerging black-owned businesses. The innovation, resilience, and drive we've witnessed are truly inspiring. These entrepreneurs are not just building companies; they're creating jobs, driving innovation, and reshaping industries. They're living proof that with the right support and opportunities, transformative change is possible. To all the entrepreneurs working tirelessly to make a difference - your efforts matter more than you know! Research shows that entrepreneurship alone isn't enough for sustainable economic growth. It requires a supportive ecosystem that is scalable and self-sustaining. Understanding the link between innovation, entrepreneurship, and policy is crucial for developing effective policies and interventions tailored to Africa. Fostering collaboration among policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, academia, the private sector, and development institutions is essential for ensuring that every stakeholder feels valued and included in the process. This collaborative approach is key to overcoming challenges and boosting job creation across Africa. #VentureScaleUp #KasiAfrique #Entrepreneurship #StrategicCollaboration

Arguably the most important piece I have ever written. It may have come from a place of venting but it was also from a place of truth. Please take your time to read and share as widely as you can. You'll never know, maybe it can open this conversation up more widely, and maybe even change the landscape of these programs that we receive as African entrepreneurs and change makers. #AfricanStartups #AccesstoFinancing

💯 well nailed. 👌 Planned vicious cycle 🔁 Indeed the poor small businesses & smallholder farms participants get a useless certificate, while all the 💰 goes to the promoters & connected trainers. 👇 "... In conclusion, #African startups and small businesses are tired of capacity building programs that offer little in terms of tangible outcomes. We need access to financing to truly succeed. It is time for organizations and these large business training initiatives by these organizations to listen to our needs and provide the support we truly need to thrive. No more certificates of completion and programs that mostly just serve the organizations that provide them as they get to present “results” from cohort after cohort and show to investors and funders how great they are doing, all the while using us as metrics for the impact they are having, while it doesn’t necessarily translate on the ground. Enough. "
