#Topics Big Tech in charge as ChatGPT turns one [ad_1] ChatGPT became the fastest adopted app in history (since taken over by Meta’s Threads) as users marveled at the generation of poems, recipes - or whatever the internet could muster - in just seconds. A year after the history-making release of ChatGPT, the AI revolution is here, but the recent boardroom crisis at OpenAI, the super app's company, has erased any doubt that Big Tech is in charge. In some ways, the discreet reveal of ChatGPT on November 30 last year was the revenge of the geeks, the unsung researchers and engineers who have been quietly building generative AI behind the scenes. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, a well-known figure in technology circles, but still little known beyond that, with the release of ChatGPT made sure that this unheralded AI tech would get the attention it deserves. ChatGPT became the fastest adopted app in history (since taken over by Meta's Threads) as users marveled at the generation of poems, recipes—or whatever the internet could muster—in just seconds. Altman's gamble catapulted the 38-year-old St...

It is exactly one year since OpenAI launched ChatGPT. If you have not tested it, sign up and give it a try. Using generative AI is going is going to have a massive impact and is already transforming some sectors of society significantly. Like all technologies, it has potential for benefit or harm to mankind, which is why it is important to understand it. So the best way to do it is to try it yourself. What's been your experience. My own favourite example is showing it to a super smart German cinema colleague who had heard if it and not tested it. He asked it to summarize "The Godfather" in three sentances. It did and that was too easy. So I asked it to write six management principles as learned from Michael Corleone in said film. This it produced in a couple of seconds and was surprisingly spot on. It even added a disclaimer that these business principles were based on organised crime that involved murder and more, so may not be sound principles for general business. It may not be actual intelligence, but it is worth engaging with. #ChatGPT, #OpenAI, #generativeai https://lnkd.in/gN2e8xJU

One year ago, Chat GPT disrupted all of our beliefs regarding AI, and fragmented our communities between "We opened the Pandora box" to "AI will solve us" syndromes. After just one year of maturity, few humble observations: -AI and particularly GenAI are in motion. It's impossible to deny or discard. It's not a trend, it's not the flavor of the month for consulting and tech players. It's a disruption, for real, that we have to accept. -Opportunities are massive across the whole value chain. But needs to be prioritized. GenAI brings new angles to tackle all of our processes from Innovation to customer support. It paves the road to hyper personalization and automation of consumer engagement, and offers limitless efficiencies in operations, legal or internal control...So pick up your battles and don't dilute your efforts. -Regulations will be required but Ethic is a must have. GenAIs are just tools, the difference between the Good, the Bad and the Ugly will come from how we will develop and use them. -AI is useless without the proper data foundations to train the models and to secure the data. Like for any analytics, the ability to ingest, store, maintain and spread data are instrumental to fuel GenAI engines. -Interface and integration are the bread and butter of AI. Simpler access to GenAI capabilities directly via LLM enabled interfaces into our day to day tools is the must to maximize the use cases and ultimately their results. - Dare to grant accesses to these tools as fast as possible. Some companies have already trained massively their employees on AI, while others fully block the access to them. The sooner our teams are exposed, the best they will test, learn and adapt to the new AI reality. It’s by far not exhaustive, we are all in the beginning of this journey, don’t hesitate to amend and complement. And enjoy the ride! https://lnkd.in/e8bMnxKa

🔬 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞🔬 YouGov data shows the gap between generative AI's hype & usage of ChatGPT adoption. Despite OpenAI's $86B valuation, widespread adoption lags. Is it a practicality gap? My views is, just like any other new tech which has their own mass adoption evaluation curve, I believe models like ChatGPT will evolve and hold immense potential, and the next mass adoption wave is on the horizon. I think overcoming the utility gap and building better trust and transparency are two key areas to look for and It's just a matter of time for the next mass adoption wave!! Any thoughts or views?
