🚀 Supporting the implementation efforts of IAIS Members 🚀 The IAIS Risk-based Solvency Implementation Forum (RBSIF), in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, has developed an IAIS Members-only guidance for supervisors on the practical aspects of implementing a risk-based solvency (RBS) regime. The paper provides insights into the journey towards #RBS taken by several IAIS Member jurisdictions. Key messages and highlights from the paper include: 📌 Implementing an RBS regime is a medium- to long-term project, not a short-term undertaking. 📌 The construction of an RBS project can vary based on the jurisdiction’s legal system, available resources, and preferences of supervisors and industry stakeholders. 📌 An overview of the key elements of a project plan, emphasising the crucial role of stakeholder engagement throughout the transition process 📌 The necessity of managing cultural change within both the insurance sector and supervisory bodies during the implementation of an RBS regime. 🔷 Additionally, the paper is enriched with a range of case studies from IAIS Members, offering practical examples and lessons learned. This guidance is an important resource for supervisors embarking on or currently navigating the RBS journey.
