Saudi Arabia Advances Maritime Professionalism with Competency Exams Shipping Arabia, June 2, 2024 — In a strategic move to elevate maritime standards, the Transport General Authority (TGA) of Saudi Arabia recently conducted a comprehensive competency examination for Marine Engineer Officers. Completing all requirements in Oman Air training

Kicked off this week with attending to an invitation by Air Liquide Melaka (ALM) to their CIMAH Information to Public (ITP) engagement. As per CIMAH Regulation 22 (1), it is a duty of Major Hazards Installation (MHI) to ensure person outside the site who likely to be affected by a major accident at site are supplied with appropriate information related to industries such as: 1) MHI details and contact persons 2) Hazardous substances, their potential major accidents and effects the population and environment. 3) Adequate information on how the population concerned will be warned and kept informed in the event of an accident.  4) Confirmation that the manufacturer is required to make adequate arrangements on the site, including liaison with the emergency services, to deal with accidents and to minimize their effects.  5) A reference to the off-site emergency plan drawn up to cope with any off-site effects from a major accident. 6) Details of where further relevant information can be obtained subject to the requirements of confidentiality laid down in any national legislation.
