Did you know that as adults age, their response to a Urinary Tract Infection can be different? A younger women often experiences a burning sensation with a UTI, yet older women (& men) can face a drastic changes in their mental capacity, including confusion. I've seen this many times where adult children would call stating their loved one needs memory care because all of a sudden they are acting so different and so confused! And the first 2 questions I'd ask are: 1) How long have you noticed this change? 2) Have they been checked for a UTI? The first step is always touching base with your physician to rule out a UTI.
