UPDATE: WOW! My network kicks butt. I now have more than enough qualified people to select from (and time to properly respond) so if you haven’t reached out yet, please hold off! I don’t want you to feel ignored. Thank you all so much!! <3 ——————————————————- Hi, amazing friends and contacts. We're looking to contract with a UX designer to help us polish up our applications (and possibly advise on our website and marketing materials). Ideally, the person can create a bootstrap file / CSS theme that we can use to define the look and feel for all of our apps (shameless plug: we are building a TON of amazing add-ons to increase and extend the value of Dynamics 365 - hit me up for deets!). If you want to ping me with someone who fits the bill and is looking for some work (contract, not full-time), I would appreciate it! #uxdesign #contractorneeded #marketinghelp #productdesign #lookandfeel #thankyou

My colleague Carolyn Witt and I have been busy preparing our team's internal SharePoint pages for migration. CHOP's fabulous DTS Team migrated our pages on the back end. When we previewed our site earlier in the month, the content was understandably jumbled. When asking for feedback during a team meeting, we quickly realized that our colleagues needed something more concrete to consider. We highly recommend using Figma to plan out your website and share it with stakeholders. Figma is a web-based design tool that can be used to create, share, and test web designs, mobile apps, and more. Using the SharePoint Web UI Kit, we were able to create a realistic prototype of our page redesign (all the way down to the photos, web parts, fonts, and more). We added comments with reminders, URLs, and other content we wanted to add to the pages. Not only did this give our team a tangible idea of the website redesign plan, but it helped us get valuable feedback that made for a smooth go-live yesterday. Thank you, Professor Bakhtiar Mikhak (Harvard Extension School) for teaching me to use Figma! It was fun to work together with Carolyn to plan our site. As always, make sure you consider questions like these when wireframing: -Who are your users? How many users are there? -What problems are they trying to solve? -How does your page solve their problems? -How often will the site be accessed? -What kind of content will be on your page? -What outcomes do you want to achieve with the page? How will you measure them? By no means are we experts in UI/UX, but we have some experience we were able to leverage for a successful page migration. I'm proud of us! Have you ever used Figma? If so, how are you using it in your work?

Certified Business Psychologist | Coach | Speaker | Using psychology to create high-performing leaders, cultures, and teams #HappyBeesMakeTastyHoney
Not many people know that I used to be a web designer. It was a side hustle, around 15 or so years ago, just as "responsive design" was starting to be dicsussed. What's responsive design? Well, before responsive design, we use to build websites for computer screens. These were a pretty standard size, regardless of manufacturer. In the mid-2000's, if you accessed a website on your mobile phone (which was still quite a new thing), you would see the desktop version - but really small. Responsive web design was about creating a framework that allowed the website, its elements and content to "flex" to suit the device and, today, you can see that a web experience of a site will likely be different on a desktop versus a mobile device. Developers actually design for mobile devices FIRST. This is partly because designing for desktop is a little bit simpler and partly because that's how most web traffic to sites is now consumed. "But, Danny", I hear you say. "You always talk about culture and engagement. What's this got to do with web design?" Well. All businesses - every single one of them - are people businesses. Yet we still often design with a desktop-first mindset. 🐝More employees are remote or hybrid. Yet we design for office-first 🐝More customers are accessing services on-the-move. Yet we design experiences that take time to complete or require in-person interaction 🐝More customers and employees are choosing a different organisation, if it's not designed with them in mind first Responsive design was about identifying what the future of great web experiences was like, then building around that approach - even if it felt a bit alien at the time. Today's engagement design is the same. -------------------------------------- Danny is a Business Psychologist and speaker, who nurtures purposeful cultures aligned to your organisation's goals. -------------------------------------- #Culture #EmployeeEngagement #HappyBeesMakeTastyHoney #ResponsiveDesign #Hybrid #Remote #Leadership

When you hire a website designer or developer, do you purposefully hire people with #b2bsaas experience? Or do you hire skilled people and care less about domain expertise (no pun intended)? Inquiring minds (ME!) want to know.. In my experience, it's really difficult to quickly get to the end product you envision when the person designing or developing has very little business context to pull from. I'd rather work with an expert with domain experience who may not know every efficiency gain. Of course, in the perfect world, we find someone who has both - but if I HAD to choose, that's my choice. #b2bmarketing
