As we’re closing out 2023, we at Yurts are looking back on the federal events we attended this year and what we learned there. In the past 4 months alone we hit #AUSA2023, Global SOF Foundation’s #ModernWarfareWeek, #DoDIIS, and the DOD Maintenance Symposium. There were some big hits for us - GSOF’s events really blew us away - particularly #SOFWeek, where they really went big this year. We can’t wait to be there again in 2024. We were amazed at how welcoming DoDIIS was for AI Startups, and we made some great connections there. We loved getting to demo alongside Redhorse Corporation at the DoD Maintenance Symposium last week - many thanks to their whole team! We had a couple big takeaways there that are worth highlighting: 1. Most importantly: The DoD is ready to apply #GenerativeAI solutions to force multiply. We’ve heard so many ideas for how an enterprise AI platform like Yurts can drive mission impact - and most of them are very tractable with the data the government has at its disposal today! 2. There just aren’t that many enterprise-ready Generative AI products that are truly ready to meet the government’s needs. Lots of pilots are in flight to assess feasibility and prove potential value, but going from those POCs to a secure solution at scale that can reliably support mission needs is harder than it sounds (and it sounds hard!). Yurts is excited to support #USSOCOM as they make that leap, and we’re taking other initiatives (which we’ll be announcing soon!) to step up for the rest of the DoD. These events have been a fantastic place to learn from the DoD on where they have unmet needs and how AI companies can better serve them. I’m extremely thankful for all of the time servicemembers and civilian staff have spent transferring knowledge to us. We’ll keep taking those opportunities when we can - we look forward to seeing more of you at DoD Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office #AdvantageDoD2024, The Potomac Officers Club’s AI Summit, SXSW, and GSOF #SOFWeek!

What happens when tech giants, pioneers and thought leaders gather for four days at Europe's largest connectivity event to explore ideas and technologies that will disrupt the future?   Well, you get to see the first real flying car, learn about biological intelligence solutions developed by fusing living brain cells with computing devices, talk about space and satellites, and, of course, explore the many applications of AI from law enforcement to sustainability.   Nevertheless, my favourite part is the people at MWC. Together with my fellow CMS team members, we had over 120 meetings with stakeholders, enthusiasts, leaders and future leaders. The #mwc is always a journey into the future, and we got a little closer to sensing what the future can bring us - and what is no longer the future, but is already the present!    Thank you #mwc2024 for all the nice memories and the inspiration to explore how lawyers can align themselves with cutting-edge technologies and make law fit for the future.
