We've all heard people panic about #gender and the use of public restrooms. Today, I entered a #Starbucks restroom where a urinal and cross-gender toilet were clean and ready for use. The door locked easily. Yet even public restrooms designated for people of female gender have privacy stalls. What's the worry? I've been in public restrooms where fathers bring their children of all genders to do their business. Fears created over enabling #transgender people to use the public restroom suitable to their need are nothing more than #prejudice and #discrimination. Bigotry in restroom policy is no more principled than blocking people from restroom use based on #race, as happened in recent US #history. Change is good. Change is honest. Change leads to goodness and so-called "woke" policy delivers #civilrights for everyone. We don't want to go backward on issues like these. New restaurants, public toilets, shopping centres and offices in England will be required to have separate male and female toilets under proposed legislation. The law will affect new and non-residential buildings as part of a push "ending the rise" of gender-neutral toilets. A consultation highlighted concerns from women, elderly and disabled people who felt unfairly disadvantaged by toilets being converted into gender neutral facilities sharing cubicles and sinks. But transgender rights groups argue gender-neutral toilets can protect trans people from discrimination.
