⁉️ What just happened ⁉️ The big story of today is clearly the Labour landslide🌹🌹🌹. What an incredible result. After fourteen miserable years, the Tories have finally been evicted, and at long last we have a Labour Government! But there is so much else going on too. Labour are the big winners but lots of parties have something to celebrate: 🔶 Lib Dems have more MPs than ever before 🟢 Greens have more MPs than ever before 🟪 Most Independent MPs elected since 1945 ❗ Reform come third in vote share and win 4 MPs ☘️ Sinn Fein win most seats in Northern Ireland Meanwhile, the biggest losers are the two parties that have dominated our politics for the past decade - the Tories (across the whole UK) and the SNP (in Scotland). Results like these could indicate a complete reconfiguration of British politics, not just for the next five years but for decades to come.

The King's Speech tomorrow will mark the official opening of the new Parliament, serving as a key opportunity for the new Labour government to set out its legislative agenda for the coming months. Ahead of tomorrow's speech, Penta Group's Oliver Edelmann, Jennifer Lee and Bianca Schwam Auriemo examined the most significant manifesto published by each of the last five Labour leaders to understand how the relative "radicalism" and issue priorities in the Party's platform have changed over time. Key takeaways from the analysis include: 🔷 Keir Starmer's Labour Party manifesto is the most moderate since Tony Blair's in 1997. Two weeks on from the landslide Keir Starmer win in #GeneralElection, we are learning more and more on how The Labour Party intend to tackle one of the most pressing issues in the UK; #Housing. New Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, alongside Deputy PM Angela Rayner and Housing Minister Matthew Pennycock have all detailed their plans over the last week. Chief amongst their proposals to get Britain Building is tackling the planning system, reviewing green/grey belt land and minimising the influence of NIMBY's. To achieve these planning reforms, Labour will likely have to spend some of the political capital it accrued in its landslide general election victory.
