It was an honor to witness the beautiful memory box Andrew Austin created in honor of his late sibling, Avery, with the guidance of Grief Counselor John Goncalves. This project is part of our year-long grief counseling program, providing support and healing for those grieving loved ones who were on HopeHealth Hospice services. The process of creating a memory box can be a powerful way to remember and celebrate the life of someone we've lost. It's incredible to see how creativity and personal expression can be used as a tool for healing and remembrance during times of grief. Have you ever created a memory box in honor of a loved one? Share your thoughts and experiences with us! #GriefSupport #MemoryBox

Earlier this year LS Productions introduced a Compassionate and Other Leave Policy. The policy covers how employees and their managers can navigate time off required for ❤️ *compassionate reasons*. Sometime we might need to take time off to help a family member or friend, or it might be for an employees mental health that they need to take a break from work for a day or two. 🫂 bereavement. The last thing you want to be doing when dealing with the loss of a loved one is figuring out what you are or aren't entitled to regarding time off work 📝 divorce leave. Having time off work to attend appointments, work through paperwork etc is crucial, and we want to support employees during this tough time. Through having this clear policy in place, managers can act quickly, autonomously and in the interest of the employee.
💙 IT’S NATIONAL GRIEF AWARENESS WEEK 💙 Running from 2-8 December, National Grief Awareness Week presents an opportunity to review your company’s response to grief, because at work, it’s really important to give bereaved employees the right support👇 Knowing how you’ll handle this situation ahead of time is key to treating every employee fairly, and helps managers feel more comfortable dealing with a bereavement at work. And with only 1 in 3 employers having a bereavement policy, we think that’s a good place to start. Grief visits us all, and we handle grief in our own special way. The loss of a parent… And also the loss of a pet. Their life is much shorter than humans. When we take them into our lives, we simultaneously take on the responsibility to let them go with dignity when it is their time. For me grief comes both with joy and responsibility. What are your thoughts and experiences around grief? 🌹🌹🌹 #trudetoubiacoaching

Over the past year, I’ve been navigating a grief journey. As I reflect on this, I wonder how organizations support team members who are navigating grief. Typically, we are given a few days of bereavement leave and then expected to be back on our A-game. However grief doesn’t adhere to a set timeline. It ebbs and flows, and a grief wave can appear when we are least expecting it - even a year later. As an organization, how are you supporting your people through grief and fostering a culture where they know it’s okay to say "Today is a hard day."? #TazeemWeljieAndAssociates #Inspiration #Grief #Loss
