I feel that this is an important message to spread as far and wide as possible. Please consider reposting to get the word out. #NationalHumanTraffickingPreventionMonth
January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. During January, we celebrate the efforts of survivor advocates, anti-trafficking organizations, and law enforcement all around the world to raise awareness about human trafficking and end it in all its forms. Learn how to be an effective and supportive ally to survivors. Look out for signs if you suspect someone you know is being trafficked. If you or a loved one is a victim of human trafficking, agencies from the California Victim Services Coordination Council can help. These state agencies can aid survivors with housing and relocation, finding counseling, restraining orders, and more. Catalyzing Post-Traumatic Growth & Equitable Systems I focus on creating restorative programs that spark post-traumatic growth for people and communities. My work centers on bridging divides to empower humans to thrive.
🎉 A Huge Victory in the Fight Against Human Trafficking! 🎉 In Florida, we're celebrating a major breakthrough: 148 individuals arrested in a human trafficking operation in one of the top 3 states for trafficking volume. This is a monumental win for everyone involved in the fight against this heinous crime. But the battle doesn't end with arrests. Let's take a moment to recognize the true heroes: 👏 The law enforcement teams who planned and executed this operation 👏 The brave survivors who are reclaiming their lives 👏 The dedicated professionals who support survivors post-rescue To all the organizations and individuals working tirelessly to help survivors rebuild their self-worth and step back into their power - your work is invaluable. You are the beacon of hope that lights the way to recovery and renewal. This victory reminds us that change is possible. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of trafficking survivors and work towards a world free from exploitation. Remember, Human Trafficking victims are hidden in plain sight in your towns, your neighborhoods and your community. Let's keep the momentum going! How can we, as a community, continue to support anti-trafficking efforts and survivor recovery? Share your thoughts below. #EndHumanTrafficking #SurvivorSupport #HopeAndHealing #CommunityAction #InspireTheFuture #Whatisyourrippleeffect

In 1999, MAG formed the Regional Domestic Violence Council, bringing together governments, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, nonprofit groups and other community leaders working to prevent senseless deaths caused by domestic violence. Today, Regional Council leaders recognized the important work of the Regional Domestic Violence Council over the last 25 years by wearing purple and approving a resolution to honor the anniversary and to recognize October 2024 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 🔗 azmag.gov/DV #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

This article captures the depths of helplessness and despair over the last two years. For me, it’s about exposing the unethical injustice in our justice systems. Police and the law are supposed to be the unbiased voice of justice. Justice speaks to the truth and is essential to our knowledge and understanding of what it means to live. It is about accountability, taking responsibility and correcting broken or fractured systems. Ethically and morally, it is about repentance. Those who are responsible for the harm are the ones who take action, learn from it and repair it. Tomorrow is the only thing a parent should live for. In isolation, our families are facing this alone, but when you bring together 562 grieving families, you begin to see the magnitude of this problem. Our elders and old people have been fighting for us for generations in hopes that we don’t have to. Yet here we are, still literally fighting for our children's lives in the hopes that one day they don’t have to. With the fog of grief beginning to lift - I’m beginning to think more strategically about how we can abolish the gross inequities. Killing someone is something that you can’t undo. We all have a responsibility to critique and hold our lawmakers and law enforcement to account because the privilege of being an officer should not extend to violence leading to death. If people would be willing to speak, listen and act, it could be a powerful platform for substantive change 🖤💛❤️

In restorative justice, crime is seen as a breach of relationships. It focuses on addressing root causes, power imbalances, and systemic factors. Victims, offenders, and community members all participate, fostering understanding and amends. What would be possible if you employed the principles of restorative justice at work and in the world? Join us in embracing this approach. #CommunityHealing #RestorativeJustice
