Can you help us to tackle homelessness? This month, and the next, and the next? We're a social enterprise and employ all of our tour guides. Raising funds can be tough because we're always asking people to part with money that is stretched in so many different directions. But now, people can make little monthly donations on a regular basis and that is huge news for us. 💚 A fiver a month pays for training materials for a new guide 💚 £10 a month pays for a venue for guide training 💚 £20 a month pays for new guides to explore their city and hear from other museum, gallery and tour guides on how they run their tours. If you or your business can make a small regular donation like this, it helps so much and we'll be excited to share those updates with you as we help more people across the UK impacted by homelessness. https://lnkd.in/eCsShAHw #crowdfunder #fundraising #socialenterprise #tacklinghomelessness.

Increasingly, since the pandemic, our Primary Academies have seen that more of our families are struggling. Too often, we see children coming to school in damaged shoes, in clothes that are too small; we see children, and families, going hungry; we hear from children that they don’t have any toys or books at home. We believe it is our duty to do what we can to change this. This is why we are opening Community Hubs: so that families in need can come to collect essential items. Our supporters have been instrumental in making these Community Hubs happen, pledging financial support and donations of items. Could you, or your company, help? As well as food, our Community Hubs will stock nappies, toiletries, uniform, clothes, books and toys - so even £50 would make a difference. https://lnkd.in/eDGVfxP9 If you want to add your support, please visit: https://lnkd.in/eH4bick4 Or message Emily Clarke #HarrisFederation #Education #CommunityHubs #PrimaryAcademies

Here's why you won't want to miss the FAME-EAW Cotton Club-themed fundraiser: 1️⃣ Supporting a Vital Cause: By attending, you're showing your support for FAME-EAW's mission to provide affordable housing for families of Color, with a special focus on Black/African American families. Your presence directly contributes to building pathways to wealth creation and advocating for policy changes that promote inclusivity and economic empowerment. 2️⃣ Celebrating Success: FAME-EAW has already made significant strides in the community, housing hundreds of individuals and families through the creation of six developments in Central District and Rainier Beach. These accomplishments are worth celebrating, and your attendance at the fundraiser is a way to honor and recognize the hard work and dedication that has gone into these achievements. 3️⃣ Raising Awareness: By joining us at the Cotton Club-themed fundraiser, you're helping to raise awareness about the challenges and barriers that still exist, such as racially restrictive deeds and ongoing difficulties in accessing housing. Your presence helps shine a spotlight on these issues and encourages others to get involved in creating positive change. 4️⃣ Building Community: This event isn't just about fundraising; it's about coming together as a community to support one another and lift each other up. It's an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference and to forge meaningful relationships that extend beyond the event itself. 5️⃣ Having a Great Time: Let's not forget the most important part – it's going to be a fantastic evening filled with music, dancing, delicious food, and uplifting spirits. So why not join us for a night of fun while supporting a cause you believe in? Attending the FAME-EAW Seattle Nights Cotton Club-themed fundraiser is your chance to make a real difference, celebrate achievements, raise awareness, build community, and, most importantly, have a blast doing it! Navigating BC's Dynamic & Diverse Landscape, Cultivating Relationships To Foster Collaboration & Drive Impactful Change | Social Alchemist | Cultural Community Builder | Marketing Strategist |
What a great opportunity to learn and be a part of the solution! The "My Biggest Mistake" panel is a breath of fresh air. We have been breathing in the stagnant air of misinformation, zero accountability and scapegoating Canadas newcomers for way too long! We love sharing our successes, but the majority of us shy away from sharing and admiting our failures - the very catalysts that foster the most growth and learning. More conferences, organizations, companies, communities and individuals need to fully embrace and advocate for this candid approach to bring about true systemic change. Given the housing crisis we are facing in BC and rising emigration rates, we can no longer afford to deny mistakes or shift blame. Denial has always been one of changes most notorious enemies. Sharing our successes and failures builds collective responsibility, unity, resilience, and dedication - both in ourselves and throughout our communities. It's time for all of us to take accountability and work together to build a better future. Thank you Keir Macdonald for being an unwavering voice for change! #housingcrisis #voiceforchange #newcomers #mistakes #growth #change #resilience #community #unity

This will be a candid panel discussion where we will share some of our biggest mistakes, first-hand stories and the valuable lessons learned from them. Belive me I have a few. The housing crisis demands urgent action, and this is your chance to be part of the solution. At a time where connection feels more crucial than ever, I'm excited to share new work from the Ad Council's Belonging Begins With Us campaign in partnership with the American Immigration Council. Our 'shared table' PSA is designed to demonstrate how we can bridge across lines of difference to cultivate stronger, more connected communities Nearly three-quarters of Americans report feeling a lack of belonging in their local communities. This feeling of disconnection not only affects our personal well-being but also impacts workplace productivity and the strength of our democracy. It's clear that fostering a sense of belonging is not just important – it's essential. Our new creative partnership with the Team Up Project, led by founding partners Catholic Charities USA, Habitat for Humanity International, Interfaith America , and YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office), seeks to expand relationship-building activities and encourage connection in local communities through shared action. Belonging truly begins with us, and by coming together, we can create stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and connected. https://lnkd.in/dwyYFXim

This story has really captured the hearts & minds of people near & far. A beautifully simple story in so many respects, but also an embodiment of what community regeneration means: connection, revival, action & hope. https://lnkd.in/exnn6ubk

If you ever look at the tags on our social media posts and wonder, "Who are they?" we'll tell you now. They're our partners, and we couldn't do what we do without them. There's a lot to running an organization like ours and while we greatly appreciate when people give us money, we also benefit from the guidance and steering that these groups give us. As a group barely a year old, we soak up all the tips and lessons that our partners can give us. It's also a sign of how things should be in the nonprofit world. We need to help each other. There is competition for resources, yes, but there's also plenty of opportunity for collaboration and referrals. A volunteer who may be unsuited for one agency could thrive in a different one. For example, someone who signed up to help at an animal shelter may find out the hard way that pet dander is not their friend. But walking dogs for a group like Elderdog is right up their alley. Our mission at Volunteer Peterborough is simple; we strive to match volunteers to the ideal organization, and make the recruitment process easier. Our partner agencies make that happen. Stop by our Partners page and see the full group of people that help us do what we do. And we love them for it. https://buff.ly/3JFesd7 #FanFriday #NonProfitLife #ValuableAssets #Partners #CommunityBuilding #Besties
