As we approach our first job fair of the semester, it's important to be well-prepared to make the most of the event. Here are some key tips on what to expect and how to get ready: • Dress professionally for the job fair, similar to how you would for an interview. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as this event involves a lot of standing and walking. • Bring several copies of your resume, a professional folder with paper, and pens. • Research the companies attending the fair and prioritize who you would like visit. • Develop and practice a brief, 20 second "self-marketing" pitch. • Prepare and ask insightful questions about job duties with the company but avoid asking questions related to salary and benefits as this is your initial contact. • Thank the employer for their time and ask for a business card. You can follow-up your meeting with a thank you note or a call.
