BBVS Supply Chain Manager, Manish Tailor, recently attended UK Construction Week and this is what he had to say:
"As I navigated through the bustling halls of the ExCeL area at UK Construction Week, the energy of innovation and collaboration was palpable. The event, a convergence of industry experts, innovators, and stakeholders, provided the BBVS Team with a unique platform to engage with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and uncover potential opportunities, especially within the Old Oak Common station project.
One of the standout experiences of the week was the opportunity to engage directly with SMEs across various sectors of the construction industry. Conversations ranged from innovative construction materials to cutting-edge digital solutions, highlighting the diverse and impactful contributions SMEs offer to large-scale projects.
Amidst the myriad of discussions and workshops, the spotlight on Old Oak Common was particularly illuminating. Engaging directly with the project delivery and procurement teams shed light on the various opportunities available for SMEs to contribute their expertise, from sustainable construction practices to digital integration and beyond.
As I reflect on my time at UK Construction Week, one thing is clear – the future of construction lies in collaborative ecosystems where ideas flow freely, and expertise converges seamlessly. Engaging with SMEs not only opens doors to new opportunities but also paves the way for a more dynamic and resilient construction landscape.
In conclusion, events like UK Construction Week serve as catalysts for meaningful connections, sparking collaborations that have the potential to transform projects like Old Oak Common station into showcases of innovation and sustainability.
Finally, a big thank you to all the members of the BBVS Project Team who came to support and to the team from Anthro JV who also supported the event."
