🔬A preprint of our article entitled “PARK7/DJ-1 deficiency impairs microglial activation in response to LPS-induced inflammation” is now available online 👇 We found that microglia from DJ-1 KO mice display a distinct phenotype related to type II interferon and a diminished response to LPS-induced inflammation compared to wildtype microglia. These transcriptional changes were also found in human DJ-1 deficient iPSC-derived microglia. Furthermore, distinct morphological changes were found in the cortex of DJ-1 KO mice, collectively showing that the lack of DJ-1 affects microglial neuroinflammatory responses, which may play a causative role in PD onset and progression. This was a joint effort between researchers from University of Luxembourg Luxembourg Institute of Health and Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) - University of Luxembourg https://lnkd.in/eWAiKZMJ

Thanks to my entire Research team. Alhamdulilah, I am delighted to share that, in 2024 once again, I have been listed among the top 2% of Global scientists, as per the list released by Stanford University, USA, and Elsevier. The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or as per the percentile rank within the Top 2% in one's sub-field Specialization. #scientists #jkscientists #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #2percentScientist #ScientificRanking
