An Online Business Manager (OBM) is the equivalent of an operations manager, project manager, financial manager, or marketing manager in the corporate world. Typically, OBMs possess expertise and experience in their respective domains. They are involved in overseeing operations, managing finance and metrics, and developing strategy. OBMs engage in high-level work, differentiating them from virtual assistants (VAs). They can act as support to strategists, similar to middle managers, facilitating the smooth operation of your business. The rise of online work has led to the emergence of several remote roles, including remote project managers or system integrators (often OBMs), alongside graphic designers, social media managers, and web developers (often VAs). Like different types of VAs, OBMs can also specialize in different areas. OBMs differ from CEOs, the highest-level executives in a company. In startups, the CEO and owner might be the same person.
