My Top 3️⃣ Lessons from the Last few months 1️⃣ Product vs. Distribution: Don’t obsess over the product; obsess over distribution. With all the new tools, AI software, and connectivity, building a product has become so easy. The real differentiator in success is distribution. Building it is hard, and influencer marketing can’t replace your own distribution. 2️⃣ Hire for Hunger: You cannot control people’s growth; you can just nudge them in a direction. If you hire people with great talent but no hunger, you have to keep them motivated endlessly. It is not sustainable. Hire people who have natural hunger in them and give them a direction. That’s all that matters. 3️⃣ The 1% Chance: There comes a time when the chance of success is very low; these are times when you need to trust yourself. Keep your head down, believe in the process, and continue the grind. Hit or miss, you will definitely land in a better position than before. #lessons #product #distribution #hiring #marketing

I've been talking to a lot of startup leaders about hiring #brandmarketers lately. The common challenge they all face? Finding someone who can effectively build and scale a brand, and well.. to put it bluntly: not just make things look pretty. 🎨 My biggest piece of advice is this: Look for brand marketers with experience managing or being heavily responsible for a P&L. I'd argue this is more important than startup experience. Especially since many brand marketers with this background come from larger orgs. Understanding how brand strategy impacts the P&L is crucial.
