AEP is the culmination of the progressive eosinophilia noted in patients receiving #Daptomycin. This paper presents a case report of Daptomycin induced AEP (DIAEP), and describes an association between immune dysfunction and the development of acute eosinophilic pneumonia after exposure to daptomycin, aiming to explore the potential triggers for developing acute eosinophilic pneumonia in patients exposed to Daptomycin.

Here's my another #review article published with Syed Nabeel Ahmed in the #wjpls journal for the topic, "A REVIEW ON EIOLOGY, PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT OF #NEONATAL #SEPSIS". Neonatal sepsis has distinct problems in its genesis, pathophysiology, and therapy, and it continues to be a major cause of morbidity and death globally. The current understanding of the causes, processes, and therapeutic approaches for treating neonatal sepsis is summarized in this study. Maternal infections, pathogen transmission vertically, and environmental exposures are all considered etiological factors. Pathophysiologically, sepsis sets off inflammatory reactions throughout the body, which may result in septic shock and multiple organ failure. Early detection, supportive care, empirical antibiotic medication, and improvements in diagnostic technology are all part of management. #Antimicrobial #resistance, variations in clinical presentation, and customized strategies according on risk factors and gestational age are among the difficulties. Excited to share a recent publication from our colleague!  Rare diseases are multifaceted and limited in sample size, and particular care is needed in the selection of relevant treatment outcomes. Specific approaches can help to assess treatment effects, such as generalized paired comparisons and win statistics. As precision medicine inexorably shifts into chronic diseases the complexity of the diagnostic pathway increases, yet the benefit to reform those same pathways to channel patients to the optimal drug will prove the role precision medicine can play in value based care.

A painful rare disease where calcium builds up in the arteries could be treated with an obvious drug that had been overlooked for years. Etidronate, a drug that reduces calcium absorption, is used in various bone diseases. Given this rare disease (ACDC) has an excessive calcium issue, it seems obvious that etidronate would be a perfect fit. But because it's a cheap, old drug, with no financial incentives, no one took the initiative to repurpose it. Recently, an amazing team at the NIH decided to pick it up and conduct a clinical trial. The results look really promising. At Every Cure, we see this as an example of low-hanging fruit: we understand the disease, we understand the drug, and there's a perfect match between them. However, no one is pursuing these opportunities because there's no profit to be made.
