Don’t let anyone ever tell you that your dreams aren’t possible. I graduated college with a film degree and my first job was waiting tables at an Italian restaurant, while doing cold calls in my free time to HR managers for extra income. At the time, I questioned my life. It was my dream to work in Hollywood, but that seemed so distant as I swept bread crumbs from underneath tables in Houston. Maybe I should have stuck with engineering… But yesterday, I got a call from Liz DiRienzo with an offer to join the September class of United Talent Agency Agent Trainees. I accepted immediately. This is just the start, and I have a long road ahead of me, but I wanted to share some insights that I learned in my almost 3 years chasing this position: 🔷 Your dreams are your own, they don’t belong to anyone else. Not your parents, not your friends, YOURS. 🔷 If someone tells you that what you want to pursue is unrealistic, understand that it’s coming from a good place. But it’s not their job to tell you what’s possible for your life. 🔷 Be introspective, and understand what it is you truly desire. So many people chase goals that other people set for them. Understand what it is you want out of life instead. 🔷 Persistence pays off. You need to put in the work to get results. Nothing in life comes easy, that’s why hard work is so satisfying. You create your own reality. That doesn’t mean that you can manifest something into your life without doing anything. But hard work, done intelligently, and applied with focus, can achieve anything.
