Join us in giving a warm welcome to Cecilie Rust, our new Head of Legal and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) at Heimstaden Danmark. Cecilie is stepping into a newly created position where she will assist our Danish organisation in ensuring all legal processes, including GRC, GDPR, corporate administration, contracts, and related procedures, are well managed. She will also be responsible for establishing a stand-alone in-house legal department at Heimstaden Denmark, and we are very excited to welcome her on board. Cecilie Rust herself says: – “I couldn't have wished for a better welcome. Beginning the week with some great news from the western part of Denmark and the city of #Esbjerg. 🆕 Heimstaden and Core Hospitality have signed a 15-year contract for the lease and operations of the hotel “A Place To” in Esbjerg, Denmark. The hotel will also expand from 117 guest rooms to 214 and will rebrand under an international name. 🏨 Since its opening in November 2021, the property has been a distinguished landmark in the skyline. The BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group designed hotel has become a well-known and highly sought-after destination on Denmark's beautiful western seaboard. 🌊 The impressive view of the North Sea, modern interior design, and the popular Plates restaurant on the 17th floor have generated enormous excitement about the hotel. As a result of the high demand, we have decided to expand the hotel’s capacity by converting 97 apartments into hotel rooms. 🛏️ At the same time, one of Denmark’s largest hotel operators, Core Hospitality, will take over the lease and operations of the hotel. Helge Krogsbøl, Co-CEO of Heimstaden, is excited about the development: - “It’s a big day for Heimstaden and for Esbjerg. We have always aimed to expand the hotel and attract a well-known hotel chain to the city to meet demand. I would like to highlight our great cooperation with Esbjerg Municipality in making this ambition a reality, and I’m proud to hand over operations to Core Hospitality, who will surely enhance the hotel further and make a positive contribution to Esbjerg.” Core Hospitality will take over operations of the hotel in the second half of 2024 and expects to reveal the international hotel chain that the hotel will rebrand to in September. The full conversion is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2025.

🆕 Heimstaden Bostad just published our Q2 2024 results. 🆕 Another strong operational result with growth in rental income and improved NOI margin. Adding increasing property value and that our privatisation plan continues to deliver in line with expectations, the results show solid performance by our company in the first half of 2024.   Our Co-CEO Helge Krogsbøl comments:  - “We delivered strong rental growth and continued our high occupancy. While being successful in reducing cost and delivering an all-time high rental income at SEK 3,938 million, we are demonstrating strong operational performance meeting our targets for the first half of 2024.”  And our Co-CEO Christian Fladeland adds: - “We are seeing slightly increasing property values and continue the solid performance of our privatisation plan, reaching sales of c. SEK 4 billion since programme inception in 2023. Heimstaden Bostad Secures a New Seven-Year EUR 725 Million Loan. The EUR 725 million financing replaces an existing secured bank loan with maturity in 2026 and brings in net new proceeds of EUR 200 million. The new facility will benefit the maturity profile as well as the overall cash position of Heimstaden Bostad. Net proceeds will be used for liability management. Breaking ground for Heimstaden's new German construction project "Wohnen am Ruhwaldpark" in Berlin-Charlottenburg. 🏗️ Last week, Heimstaden Deutschland celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for 85 new rental apartments, together with Jan Wiese Architekten, the general contractor Perdomo, and many employees on the construction site. The existing residential buildings, dating from the 1950s, are now being supplemented by two new buildings, towering six and eleven storeys respectively. Most of the new apartments will be 2-3 room units, with some 4-room apartments also available. The completion of the residential buildings is already planned for the end of 2025, with the finalisation of the outdoor areas scheduled for spring 2026. - "We are creating a new building that ultimately benefits everyone – the future residents, for whom a new home is created, as well as the existing tenants, whose living environment is improved and beautified," says Gerrit Marc Sperling, Country Manager and Managing Director of Heimstaden Germany.
