Yesterday, the EU released a report with the results of the strategic dialogue on agriculture. It contains a set of recommendations for funding the agricultural transition that has systemic investing written all over its face. But, as always, the key question is: How do you go from recommendation to action? What the report is calling for is a new way of thinking and working, and the actors it calls out are not organized to coordinate their actions in synergistic, systemic ways. That's where the TransCap Initiative's work on strategic capital facilitation (SCF) might provide a solution (ICYMI: https://shorturl.at/euRgR). We are just about to start with a community of practice to explore how the core ideas of strategic capital facilitation can be operationalized. This will run along the second stage of our systemic investing prototype around regenerative agricultural transitions in the U.S., where the ideas around SCF will be tested in a real-world setting.
