ALL VIEWS STRICTLY MY OWN AND NO ONE ELSE’S. Internationally recognised expert in conduct risk in financial services. Consultant, advisor to governments, academic
https://lnkd.in/gu7N6N-d At 11:49:40:09 The holding company is PwC IL based in the UK. How would Kevo not know this? That was his testimony last week. That he didn’t know what jurisdiction the owner of the Linklater’s Report is in. Then at 11:50:55:18 Carney is named! She’s on the board of PwC IL - the entity that holds the Linklater’s Report. Paddy Carney. She’s an Australian partner. So the notion that Kevo called out into the void asking for the report and a disembodied echo came back “nooooo” is exploded. Carney would have or could easily have the report and she’s in the same office block as Kevo - Sydney!! I wonder what’s happening around the meeting table in Kevo’s office? Do you think they’re convening crisis meetings looking at each other like they’ve seen a ghost, and saying “Jebus. We’re so ph&@ked. We are failing completely to get on top of this. We’re in a glittering death spiral.” Or do you think they’re saying “it’s all under control, this will blow over. Don’t panic.”? They’ve had a procession of crisis managers through the door. It’s going from bad to worse to horrendous to catastrophic. What’s their strategy? Maybe they’re going for the pity strategy? Pity us, we’re on fire? #lying #lyingtoparliament #deportkevinburrowes #threattodemocracy #mafia #internationalcriminalenterprise

Chief Empowerment Officer (CEO) @ Allara Support Services | NDIS Business Coach | Empowering Women in Business
Those who know me know how passionate I am about my community —Penrith, Western Sydney. And yes, I’m the wild child of Western Sydney! Am I a brilliant businesswoman? Abs-fucking-lutely! But here’s what often gets overlooked: Western Sydney is a hotbed of entrepreneurial brilliance. We’re sharp, savvy, and ready to take on the world. That’s exactly why I was so pumped to bring the incredible Anna Samos to our turf—to remind us just how much we’re capable of and to open our eyes to the endless opportunities at our fingertips. Over two powerhouse days, we dived headfirst into the four key strategies—people, execution, strategy, and cash—from the game-changing book Scaling Up by Verne Harnish. Anna Samos, one of Verne’s top coaches in Australia, led the charge, showing us how this methodology can revolutionise our businesses. I’m beyond proud to have brought this epic event to our community. I love you all, and I’m thrilled we could share this experience together. Until next time, Baby! 💥 #WesternSydney #PenrithPride #EntrepreneurLife #ScalingUp #BusinessSavvy #CommunityLove #WomenInBusiness #BossLady #SydneyEvents #BusinessGrowth #AnnaSamos #VerneHarnish #WildChild #WesternSydneyBusiness #Empowerment #NextLevel

Not long to go now before the final vote and still confusing information is being churned out about the ‘Yes/No’ vote. Respect for Jacinta Price and any and every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander who has stepped up to the plate to represent their community. However her narrative in this video doesn’t hit the mark for me. No-one disagrees that citizens of Australia should be treated equitably, but The Voice is NOT about that. It’s about giving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people the opportunity to have a say in the policies that affect them as Government looks at strategies to Close The Gap and address proven intergenerational trauma. In the words of my daughter Talia Prime (who I’ve barely spoken to about my views on this), “The voice is a representative advisory body of First Nations people to the government and parliament. The purpose of this body is to make recommendations on laws that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people’s lives. This can include things like housing, healthcare, education and employment. This advice is not legally binding, and the government can do what they like with that advice. It’s very clear that First Nations people are disadvantaged socially, economically and politically. Just one example of this is the stolen generation. So having an advisory body of First Nations people (elected by First Nations people) means they will have a say in the issues that affect them and their daily lives. But it is important to reiterate that any recommendations and/or advice they give will not be legally binding - they are just recommendations.” Many other countries around the world already have political bodies that seek to guarantee Indigenous peoples are heard. For example, both Canada and the US have an indigenous advisory committee to advise their government on policy. So does USA and New Zealand. Jacinta’s video doesn’t seek to actually explain what The Voice is. It just seems to be suggesting that it will be divisive, and it will only be divisive to those that don’t understand the need for there to be First Nations advocacy that helps put real strategies in place to Close The Gap and address intergenerational trauma. https://lnkd.in/gXekKKur

Congratulations to Family Business Association (AU) for another great SA/NT State Conference. The theme this year was Insights, and there were many. Here a few key takeaways. These apply equally to small businesses that are not family businesses as well. 1 - Business regulation and legal complexity is increasing. Awareness of the obligations – and the rights – of the business and its owners is essential for success. Businesses should regularly review their risk management strategies, policies and procedures. These can’t be “set and forget”. 2 - Succession Planning should be top of the agenda. So much can be done, and there are many effective legal avenues available to ensure a smooth and orderly transition to the next phase of the business, not just in terms of ownership, but also control, day to day management, leadership and retention of key people. Ultimately, a successful transition depends on having a plan that is comprehensive and flexible. This takes time and should evolve to accommodate changing family / ownership dynamics. 3 - Business structures should also be reviewed regularly to ensure they remain fit for purpose in an environment of regularly changing tax laws, regulations, business models and financial and economic landscapes. A highly functional business structure is robust enough to weather threats and challenges and flexible enough to take advantage of opportunities as they present. Much can be done to refresh structures that are no longer appropriate or efficient. At Belperio Connell we are here to assist you and your business.
