Whilst everyone is waiting for the latest guidelines drop from the medical board, its a great time to have a look at your CPD. I break mine into groupings, such as what I really want to learn about, what I think I should keep a abreast with, what I need for safety and compliance and what I think will just add to my skill base. I find a structured approach helps greatly, but I am not beyond using a few shortcuts: I attend the ACAM Guest Lecturer series, its free and CPD accredited; I complete the ACAM Compliance Pack, not free but extremely reasonable in price, it brushes up my knowledge of national practice standards and requirements, also CPD accredited, online and in my own time; And when I can, I attend an ACAM CPD accredited dinner meeting and appropriate workshop and conferences; And finally read, or write a peer reviewed paper. Now that CPD is tied to your registration, it more important than ever to ensure you have an organized approach to relevant education and training. Other tips and hints: Look for CPD accredited activities, and the larger number of organizations that an activity is accredited with, the more you can be assured that it has passed a quality check; I use Pub Med a lot, try it, its free and you can search up a topic of your choice to add to your literature collection; And finally being a member of a representative college means that I have access to all the college offers, including free CPD accredited courses and journal articles, dinners and planning templates. :))

The SFMA provides an efficient method for systematically determining the cause of the patient’s pain, not just the source. The SFMA is a repeatable diagnostic metric that begins with 7 full-body movements, known as the "Top Tier," to determine where further assessment is needed. A common logic is applied to all patterns to break down the movement in a systematic way to reach a movement diagnosis of either mobility or stability/motor control dysfunction. Most of the live portion of the SFMA seminar is spent in practical sessions. Participants are taught the assessment criteria and have ample practice and opportunities to ask questions to ensure they are comfortable integrating the system immediately into their clinical practice.
