Improving Care Navigation by deploying highly empathetic humans that are empowered with modern tech efficiency
With all of the talk around #patientexperience it seems like these scores should be improving not declining. Many of our customers are seeing improvements in many of these categories. The two issues that stood out as the easiest to fix with a low lift, no clinician burden, AI patient experience solutions are: Patients who agree they understood their care when they left the hospital: 43% Patients who strongly agree they understood their responsibilities when they left the hospital: 51% These are not nursing/staffing issues, these are communication issues for which there are solutions. Nurses are working hard, understaffed and frustrated by administrative burden. The technology exists to take the information that they have already entered in the EHR and deliver it to the patient so that it is understandable (doctor to patient translation) and usable for follow up (messaging on personal device). This (Vital AI) is a low risk, high reward way to us AI in healthcare that addresses the biggest issues in healthcare - clinician burden.

Allowing patients to ‘ask Alexa’ for hospital dates using AI – A risky business? There is a growing demand from patients wanting to take charge of their own #healthcare, and with limited healthcare resources, it is now more important than ever that patients are able to advocate for themselves, and accessibility is key! So giving patients the opportunity to ask Siri or Alexa for information about their upcoming medical appointments will surely help them feel more involved in their treatment plans wouldn’t it? Although there are a number of benefits to incorporating #AI in healthcare settings, automation comes with risks. Patients should of course be able to access their healthcare information where possible; however, giving patients the ability to access and examine complex scientific information about their health potentially poses risks. “It’s important to consider how some of the additional features of the service and other similar services would work, particularly around the possibility for patients to examine their own scans given that, in most cases, this would require medical expertise to interpret the results. It’s about striking a balance between empowering patients and not overwhelming them with too much information relating to their health, which they may not fully understand.” Kirsty Fallowfield, AXON Account Manager, #Communications and #Advocacy Interesting read: https://lnkd.in/eg9ks25B Those working in #HealthcareComms, what are your thoughts? #HealthTechnology #DigitalHealth #PatientEmpowerment #POV #LifeAtAXON

The implementation of a combination of strategies is essential to ensure effective transitions of care. Predischarge interventions, such as patient education, discharge planning, and patient-centered discharge instructions, combined with post-discharge interventions, such as follow-up phone calls and care coordination, have been shown to reduce adverse events and improve patient safety. The article stresses on the importance of proper communication between health care providers, and the importance of engaging patients and partnering with them. There is a need to explore ways to leverage technology in supporting communication and enhancing transitions of care. #patientsafety #transitions #outcomes #patienteducation #communication #communicationtools #sharedmedicalrecord #personcenteredcare #AI #useoftechnology https://lnkd.in/dM4DUZwg

Optimizing healthcare logistics and supply chain is a challenge. Disruptions, the fluidity of patient needs, and the impracticality of stocking supplies in advance, all contribute to the difficulty of the task. This is why, this accomplishment by AmeriPro Health is so impressive. By utilizing AI to identify bottlenecks, predict, and manage healthcare logistics, the company was able to cut one day off the average length of hospital stay at their partnering institutions. Let’s talk about how this was possible, and why it’s so important. This accomplishment was powered by AI technology, which enabled the company to access and analyze data about the delivery of patient care. By understanding exactly what metrics they were looking for, the ambulance and hospital data provided was able to converted into targeted areas of improvement. After identifying areas with the strong possibility of bottlenecks, the hospitals were able to take direct action to alleviate problems preventatively. In turn, they delivered patients more pre-stay care and reached them when care was most needed. While this is a strong example of AI in healthcare logistics, the implications of this case are far-reaching. Healthcare supply chain is another area of healthcare where disruptions are frequent and optimization can have significant benefits on physician support, patient health, and healthcare accessibility. By applying the same AI lessons and principles to supply chain, healthcare providers can provide resources more equitably, reach rural areas, and diversify patient care offerings. Critically, these are issues that an increase healthcare labor alone cannot address, making the potential impact of AI in healthcare supply chain more important. What impact do you believe AI can have in healthcare supply chain. More critically, what roadblocks do you believe stand in the way of its implementation? #AI #HealthcareSupplyChain #healthcare

🔴 Patients could “ask Alexa” when their #hospital #appointment is and reschedule it if not convenient, under proposed pilot schemes. #Tech company BT Group is to test a new #AI service that will allow patients to find out far more information about upcoming consultations, including the risks of their procedure and advice about their health condition. Prof Sultan Mahmud, the company’s director of #healthcare, said the system would allow patients to be far more involved in their own healthcare, asking questions of their doctor’s credentials and track records. The company is in talks with #NHS trusts about rolling out the technology, which would mean that patients could be sent a text message, allowing them to interact with their NHS provider more easily. Under the system, which could be integrated with voice-activated systems such as #Siri and #Alexa, patients could check when their next appointment is, and ask to reschedule if it is not convenient.
