Climate protection with biochar made from sludge. Biochar fertilizes the microflora of infertile soil, regulates the water balance and water-holding capacity of agricultural areas. It forms a good basis for the microorganisms necessary for plant growth.   Our process is a sewage sludge dehumidification and pyrolysis device, which enables us to use the phosphorus and potassium containing phosphorus and potassium for drying the sewage treatment plant (20% dry matter content) in continuous operation without the use of an external energy source and trace elements (Fe, Mn, Ca, Zn and Cu).   The biochar obtained during pyrolysis can be used as a renewable inorganic fertilizer in any growing season. Biochar does not contain biologically hazardous components. I find this post baffling, as lithium mining itself poses tremendous environmental threats, much more than small amounts of battery-derived PFAS leaching into landfills, etc. Entire communities are being displaced by Li mining, entire water tables are being contaminated possibly beyond rehabilitation. This situation will only deteriorate, until it can no longer be ignored by the US and EU press. According to Green Match: "Lithium mining, like most mining activities, has a significant environmental footprint. The extraction process can harm the soil by causing air contamination, and in places like South America's lithium fields, it can lead to water scarcity and affect local communities. " According to the Department of Labor, child labor is utilized for the mining of lithium. According to Science News, lithium mining threatens extinction of migratory birds, in particular flamingos. I think PFAS in Li batteries is the least of our concerns. There is a need to be rational, not sensational, when evaluating the hazards and risks of PFAS.
