A huge shout out for Art Professor, Phil Chang and his exhibition in New York City! "Process, Object, Residue reframes the artist’s previous presentation of the project, in which unfixed prints were created in the privacy of the artist’s studio and presented in public at a gallery, where they slowly faded over time in the ambient light necessary to view them. In this exhibition, a new photographic print will be created each day, by contact printing a negative onto expired Kodak Kodabrome paper within the gallery. These long exposures will be executed in a manner consistent with Chang’s private studio practice: using an inexpensive desk lamp, on an ordinary table, within a standard room filled with ambient light. By using readily available, low-tech tools, this process challenges photographic standards, and questions the economic hierarchies inherent to the art world. Process, Object, Residue will incorporate a public display of the artist’s personal documents related to previous presentations of the work, including research materials, exhibition proposals, installation layouts, and press reviews. These documents make hidden aspects of other labor visible, further considering the economic implications of artistic production and the value assigned to stages of the creative process." Art has been evolving since cavemen began painting on their walls. Technology as a whole has been the catalyst in the process, which is what I will be focusing on my capstone project #DCIMCapstone project. I was always looking for more from my teachers in regards to my art classes. When you have a natural gift, in most cases you are overlooked because you can handle it. While others always benefited from more help. So Later on as an adult, I tackle the art of color separations in the screen printing business. This took me on a journey that no one could ever imagine. Creating a colored detailed artwork and then create separations for each color on a transparent acetate that would be burned in a screen for each color. At the time there were no computers to do color separations, I had to create dots stippling to create color gradations for my finished art prints. Those were the days of self acclaimed, with challenges and self achievements. Love those days! I created art for the theme parks across America. Now today l've become something different as the Artist, always looking for challenges, because that kid in me still is never satisfied. So now, 1 create 3D canvas paintings that are sometimes hard to imagine. However these are the challenges I enjoy. This is where I feel at home, and here are my words of wisdom! Today I'm working on a project right now, that I have had to go back and redirect my subjects to live cohesively within its 3 dimensional prospective world, 1 have created! As the Artist, you have to be willing to live all out with no fear of expression by jumping into the fears of failure, that's when you emerge through the magical process with a one of a kind work of art that even I, will not want to duplicate. Understanding these styles and the techniques employed by artists can offer insights into their creative processes and intentions.   3. Iconography and Symbolism: Art often contains symbols, motifs, and allegorical references that convey deeper meanings and cultural significance. Interpreting these symbols within their historical and cultural contexts is essential for comprehending the messages embedded in artworks.   4. In this case to produce a physical bronze sculpture. There’s a previlent debate on whether AI is simply a tool or rather a collaborator. 🟥 𝑺𝑪𝑰𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬𝑺 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝑹𝑻: 𝑨𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒛𝒛𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒕 【"】If you refuse to study anatomy, the arts of drawing and perspective, the mathematics of aesthetics, and the science of color, let me tell you that this is more a sign of laziness than of genius. ― Salvador Dalí 𝑭𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒅: Colored plates from Gautier D’Agoty's Essai d’Anatomie (1745) [Credits: Internet Archive; The Public Domain Review] These extraordinary illustrations were produced in 1745 by French anatomist, painter, and printmaker Jacques Fabien Gautier D’Agoty (1711-1786), and form a remarkably detailed atlas of the head, neck, and shoulder areas of the human body, with explanatory text in French. The scenes were based on cadavers dissected by French anatomist Joseph Guichard Duverney (1648-1730) and made using the mezzotint method. Mezzotints are produced by rocking a toothed tool over a metal plate to create tiny holes that hold ink. The roughened surface is then polished to varying degrees of smoothness, thus reducing ink-holding capacity, and creating subtly darker and lighter tones. Colored mezzotinting was invented in 1719 by Gautier D’Agoty’s master, Jaques Christophe Le Blon, and involves making three separate impressions (of blue, yellow, and red ink). Since the mezzotint technique is quite labor-intensive, it had largely fallen out of favor by the twentieth century. As the Internet Archive description explains: “Most often used to reproduce paintings by famous artists, mezzotint printing was rarely used for original works of art, making the ‘Essai d’Anatomie’ a work of great scientific and artistic significance. The original copy of the ‘Essai d’Anatomie’ held by the Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences at Tulane University was restored, bound, and digitized by William Kitchens. The restoration work was completed on May 6, 2008.
