The satisfaction of participating once again in a Vendor Summit is measured by the quality of the connections we can make. The value generated is evident in the closer relationships we can build with our suppliers and the AutoZone leadership team. A year ago, I was watching the video where our Vice President of Supply Chain, Annie Hook , presented the implementation of the RELEX Solutions demand forecasting software. Yesterday, with the same system already implemented and in use Brazil, I had the privilege of attending a national supplier recognition event and capturing this moment alongside Annie! And that’s not all—in this photo, we have the Supply Chain leaders in Brazil: César Anicet, Alan Rebellato , and Caio Berte; our President, Mauricio Braz ; our Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, Eric Gould; a 41 year AutoZoner, David Cole and part of the excellent team at AutoZone’s Distribution Center in Brazil. I’ve been in enough leadership meetings to know when people are winging it. Making decisions off of hunches or gut feel. Too many of those meetings are missing the most important voice in the room: Your buyer.
