**This one's for ERCOT Developers** Some of you may know there's a massive 138 kV transmission project being developed in the Brackettville region of TX due to complete in Feb. of 2024. With corresponding substations at both the north and south ends of this project, interconnection may go fast! (It looks like more than 750MW have already filed for interconnection at the south end) For anyone looking to join the party, we pulled the data. Within a half mile radius of this new transmission line, there are roughly 122 parcels with a minimum of 10 acres and 80% buildable rating. The past two years have been a tremendous journey. In that short window our company has grown from its founding to 35 employees; built our first battery energy storage facility in California; began buying and selling energy in markets; completed one of the first investment tax credit transfers in our industry; acquired our first battery storage project in Texas; and established over 2,000 MW of early-stage positions across the country.   There’s of course plenty of unfinished business ahead. Maturing our young company is a priority: continuous improvements in our optimization, progressing our greenfield development in new regions, and continuing to diligence acquisition opportunities. And we are doing that while adapting to a shifting landscape: navigating interconnection reforms and upgrade cost changes, educating local authorities on permitting and safety, and building our resilience to larger supply chain vulnerabilities. It’s worth noting that the single greatest challenge to GridStor’s growth is the increasingly bogged-down interconnection process in almost every market, save Texas. I expect our colleagues in the energy storage industry share my concern. It is critical that we join our voices together and advocate together for policies that meaningfully speed up the completion of interconnections, particularly the construction of network upgrades.   Plowing new ground isn't easy, and our team has consistently demonstrated their ability to roll up their sleeves and get hard things done. As I reflect on GridStor's second anniversary, I am thankful to our employees who have chosen to do this work over anything else they are capable of pursuing with their time and talents.   Happy anniversary to us all!
