Wednesday Q&A "Is it appropriate to drink alcohol at corporate events if it is served?" There's no straightforward ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer to this question, but let's differentiate between Formal and Team Building events. 🍷 At FORMAL gatherings like award ceremonies or official receptions, it's perfectly acceptable to have a drink, but wisdom lies in moderation. Although everyone has different tolerances, limiting yourself to a maximum of two glasses of wine or cocktails per event is a good rule of thumb. 🍸 It's better to stay sharp and engaged rather than become the main character of a story that'll be retold for all the wrong reasons.🤦🏻♀️ A drink in more relaxed settings like team outings or holiday PARTIES might be a great way to relax and connect with colleagues. However, moderation is still crucial. Alcohol should enhance the fun, not lead to regrettable dance moves or unintended speeches😭 Regardless of the event's nature, adopting a conservative approach is wise. Enjoy alcohol responsibly, and remember that you're still in a professional setting. Remember the old joke about a training class called "How to restore your reputation after the company party"? Aim never to attend it!! P.S. While drafting my response to this question, I wondered: How would you answer it?

If you aren’t doing Zumba at your pre-service meeting, are you even doing it right?! Look at this best practice from one of our Centers for Excellence outside of Chicago, IL. They use the pre-service meeting to run through the day’s menu and LTOs, safety, company news and reminders to keep their people informed. They keep them ENGAGED with fun and movement. That’s the difference. That’s the stickiness of building a team, a community, and a cohesive unit versus running an operation with employees. Our Eurest USA and ESFM® USA Comms team also has a version of pre-service daily. We’ve kicked off our meeting with a song of the day, favorite reels, current inspirations that a team member takes turns leading and sharing. It’s been a great way to get to know each other, work better together. 💡How can you bring your team together to build trust, drive communication and collaboration? 💡How can you be a leader “in the know” who makes sure their team knows so THEY can perform well? 💡How can you incorporate small moments of connection when you gather?
