On Friday we were delighted to attend the annual Government House Open Day held by Administrator of the Northern Territory. We are grateful to His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM for the generous invitation to attend with our shelter partner RSPCA NT to the beautiful historic house and gardens. Happy Paws Happy Hearts Program Trainer in Darwin, Margaret, joined RSPCA NT’s stall with Rachael Grierson along with the very affectionate Bim Bim, the 3-year-old Pug X who lavished the attention from the visitors and attendees! It was a lovely day to connect with the community and other local organisations.

Remember to register for the final town hall event in Adelaide at 6:30pm Wednesday 12th June. It could not be explained any better than how Vanessa Cheng has outlined in this short video. Parents and students of faith aligned schools seek a positive right of choice for education to be aligned to their beliefs, with clear protections for schools to employ and educate in line with religious and moral values. What is required? Legislative clarity is required to allow for faith institutions (be it schools or places of worship) the protection to teach and practice their religious and moral beliefs. To remove any doubt, its parents and students that make the choice of faith aligned schooling, and the choice is to be taught by a system that supports and is consistent with their faith and choice in morals and religious practice. Be it belief about spiritual matters or beliefs around identity. I sincerely pray that the existing government and future governments uphold existing religious freedom and expression. Unfortunately proposed changes will erode this religious freedom and diversity of choice for Parents and Students. A positive event to attend and support. https://lnkd.in/gJ6y3ZwP

The Government Communication Service (GCS) was delighted to be part of Civil Service Live again this year, delivering a session on public speaking at various locations across the UK! GCS members hosted the session to help civil servants build confidence with presenting and speaking publicly. We would like to thank our amazing volunteers who delivered the sessions! Here are the top 3 take aways from the session: 1. Preparation is key! Plan what you want to say and the story you want to tell, squeeze in plenty of rehearsals, and familiarise yourself with on-the-day logistics. There are lots of things you can do to ensure your presentation has the right impact and help you feel more confident and prepared. 2. Your audience is there to listen and learn from you. What story do you want to tell them? Be really clear on what you want your audience to think, feel and do as a result of your presentation. 3. If things go awry on the day, remember it'll be okay! Sometimes the tech fails us or we make a mistake or forget our words. We're all human. Don't worry - everything will be fine. Remember, you know your stuff, so keep going! 📣 Got a public speaking tip? Share it below! #GovernmentCommunicationService #GCS #UKGovComms #Communications #PublicSpeaking #PresentingWithImpact
Over the last few weeks tens of thousands of civil servants have attended Civil Service Live events across the country. The annual events give civil servants the opportunity to come together to develop skills, create connections, and generate ideas that will equip the Civil Service to be the best it can in serving the government of the day and delivering for citizens. Last year’s events were recognised at the Conference & Events Awards, picking up the bronze award in the ‘Best Conference / Event Series (over 2,000 attendees)’ category at the Awards Ceremony on Friday. Head of Events at the Cabinet Office Alexandra Whiteley says: “I’m thrilled that Civil Service Live has been recognised in this way. Organising and delivering the events takes a year round effort from a wide range of people, not least our incredible speakers and amazing volunteers whose efforts ensure each event is created by civil servants for civil servants.”
