Bringing the science to the bedside We just wrapped up an excellent #VentilationWorkshop in Tokyo on "From VILI to P-SILI", hosted together with our partner Nihon Kohden Corporation. Dr. Kataoka from Nerima Hikarigaoka Hospital chaired the event, with Prof. Francesco Mojoli from Pavia University Hospital presenting engaging lectures and interactive scenarios.Prof. Mojoli's new method using the P/V Tool to fine-tune PEEP was a hit, focusing on reducing atelectrauma and thus VILI. A small contribution for education. Short story to how this came about - approached by Kosmo to talk about sudden cardiac deaths. Been a spate of of high profile people passing away without warning. To makes matter more dramatic, all of the events happened in clear presence of eyewitnesses. Certainly not comfortable generalizing my advice on this topic. Each cardiac deaths have a specific cause, some known and some outside the domain of human knowledge (yet). Nevertheless, my decision to proceed with this article serves as a pledge - for people to get themselves checked out medically. Hopeful it helps for the public. #suddencardiacarrest #cardiology
