Smartphone attachments of the same quality as slit lamp microscopes used in ophthalmology can be used in rural areas of developing countries. 2. Data taken with a smartphone can be screened remotely by an ophthalmologist. 3. Information screened in Japan is shared with collaborating ophthalmologists in the field. 4. Patients can go to an ophthalmologist and receive appropriate treatment. 5. Accumulated data can also be used in epidemiology. 6.
