UNSW 19th in the World, undoubtedly exemplifies its global standing through its transformative education and diverse opportunities. Here's how it has shaped my journey: 🎓 As I prepare to graduate from UNSW with a degree in Supply Chain Management, I can't help but reflect on the incredible journey I've had here. 🌟 Throughout my time here, UNSW has been more than an academic institution—it's been a nurturing ground for critical thinking and self-discovery. Here are the key facets of my transformative experience: Encouragement to Question and Think Critically:  UNSW empowered me to question assumptions, not to accept things at face value but to analyze information critically, and approach challenges with a strategic mindset. These skills have been invaluable in my studies in Supply Chain Management and will undoubtedly shape my career ahead. Personal Development: Beyond academic achievements, UNSW placed a significant emphasis on mental wellbeing, ensuring I had the support and resources needed to thrive both academically and personally. Cultural Enrichment: I've had the privilege of studying alongside a diverse cohort representing over 20 countries. Engaging with peers from different cultural backgrounds has expanded my perspectives and deepened my appreciation for global collaboration. Vibrant Campus Life: I stepped out of my comfort zone and engaged in various activities such as hiking, bouldering, rowing, and canyoning, becoming more outdoorsy along the way. Exploration and Flexibility: UNSW's flexible curriculum allowed me to explore various fields through electives, broadening my knowledge and helping me discover new passions beyond my core discipline. Community and Support: The supportive community at UNSW, including faculty, staff, and fellow students, has been instrumental in my growth. The collaborative environment fostered here has encouraged me to push my boundaries and achieve more than I thought possible. UNSW has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to make a meaningful impact in the world. Whoop whoop! Proud Imperial alum this morning. With 3 of the top 5 (and 4 of the top 10) universities in the world, the UK’s academic institutions remain exceptional and a critical strategic asset to drive innovation in healthcare, technology, sustainability and the broader economy. Imperial, Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL are also key incubators of the UK’s exceptional life sciences and tech start-ups. It’s important to aim for the stars, so that we land on the tree tops. A “little Julia” story (check out my first LinkedIn post for reference): Like every other child, every time before going to sleep I would daydream about my future. I would make up all sorts of happy and funny events. However, there is one dream which always stood out to me. It is not a happy daydream. Not a daydream we would expect a 10 year old to have. It was a stressful dream…but, also exciting. In my dream, I was stuck with choosing between the two best universities in the world. Each one was fighting for me. I remember the following days, I kept debating and arguing with myself over which one I would pick, and why… You might wonder why I would choose to add another stressor in my life. Why I would choose to waste my time stressing about a fictional situation, when real challenges, those of reading, writing and staying in school, had not yet be conquered. In my 10 year old mind, I wanted that future so much I was willing to make it my current reality. Which motivated me. Made me creative in my thinking and strategy. No one could tell me I wasn’t good enough, because in my world I was being fought over by the best. In October 2023, I started my second degree at Imperial. Supported by incredible professors and peers, I have been exploring the field of Surgical Robotics. Back then, we were ranked 6th in the world. Yesterday, Imperial College London was ranked second in the world. The best two institutions might not be fighting over me… yet. But I am attending the second best university in the world. In some ways, I feel like I have accomplished the essence of that dream. I am proud to be part of and contributing to, the thriving Imperial community.

With A-level results day tomorrow, I’d like to emphasise something very important: Please be mindful that everyone has different goals and expectations of themselves: → Some people are trying to get into their dream University. → Some people need certain grades for their reapplication process next year. → Some people don’t care about their grades and sat the exams for closure, and are now planning to double down on their side hustle. → Some people have had the toughest year of their life, and have still managed to come out of the other side. So here’s the simple question I ask after exam results: “Are you happy?” That’s all that matters right? If they’re happy, amazing! Celebrate with them, and be happy for them. If they’re not, be a good friend and ask them how you can best support them. But remember if it’s gone well for you, despite how it’s gone for other people, it’s okay to celebrate your success. And most importantly: celebrate everyone’s incredible hard work. To everyone expecting results tomorrow, absolute best of luck to you all. Be proud of yourself and your hard work. Hoping to see many new faces at UCL this September!!
