The Truth About Lightening Your Hair - What to Expect Before, During and After Lightening (aka Bleaching) your hair is a bold move. It’s a journey of transformation, inside and out. Here’s what to expect: Before lightening the hair: Find inspo pics. Research the stylist. Schedule a consultation. Know your hair history (minimum 3 years). Be open. Be realistic about the outcome. During the process: It takes time. Transformations are a process. Be patient. Get comfortable. Bring a book. Snacks. Netflix playlist.You will be there for 4-7 hours, depending on the service. Aftercare is crucial: Invest in a quality shampoo, conditioner, and hair masks. Your hair will need hydration. Reduce heat styling. Cut those ends regularly.
