The police report cited the FBI Agent as the 100% AT-FAULT party, but because they are self-insured, there was no adjuster to call or claim to file. The FBI Office told the owner of the 2015 Ford Explorer that it was up to her to submit the proper paperwork to get reimbursed for the damage. One of my least favorite parts of my job is calling clients to let them know that their ideal job candidate has a motor vehicle record that has been rejected by insurers. I'll go to bat for them every day of the week, but sometimes the violations are so egregious they can't be overcome. This seems to be an all too familiar problem for contractors who are looking to grow. Underwriters care about motor vehicle records now more than ever in this risk adverse climate. Realizing I am completely unqualified to give advice to candidates for the construction industry, I have one thing I'd like to share. If you are seeking a job that requires you to operate a vehicle, bring a copy of your motor vehicle record to your interview. If there are violations, be sure to bring an explanation of what occurred. These are going to come back at you either way, so best to get in front of it early.
