Imposter Syndrome is nothing new. Research suggests that 70% of people report having felt imposter syndrome at some point in their lives. But for immigrants and children of immigrants who are often made to feel like they don't belong in their communities, it goes deeper; it's something that follows them everywhere they go. The way society perceives us—as someone to feel sorry for or be afraid of—is at odds with who we actually are: integral to the fabric of our society, enriching our communities, economy, and culture. However, when more of us achieve success, we not only keep rewriting history, but we also demonstrate to others that, yes, immigrants belong here and that they too can and will succeed. In 2020, 36 million children were living outside of their country of birth, and about 1/3 of them were refugees or asylum seekers 🚸 OUT NOW: We've just launched a new toolkit for practitioners working with children and young people on the move, 🔗 https://buff.ly/41gXauR This resource shares guidance and research for practitioners around the world who are working with child migrants. Three years in the making, this resource draws on in-depth research into the integration of children moving from the Middle East to Europe. The aim is to enhance the support that children on the move have access to, and improve the experience of re-integration into new communities. It's full of tips, insights, experiences and considerations from the experienced practitioners of the Family alliance and intended to guide others as they support children on the move. The toolkit is currently available in English, Spanish, Italian and German. It will soon be available in Greek.
