Law is not just a career. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a way forward into whatever you value and are passionate about. It can take you to places you never dreamed of, put you in rooms you were never sure even existed, introduce you to people who open your eyes and your mind and take you ever forward. One such person is Akil Hunte. This 6 min video is for anyone who thinks “a career in law isn’t for people like me”. It can be tough, but the breaks are not just for other people, they are for anyone who works hard and has vision, is willing to learn and strive. Keep showing the world who you are. Don’t stop battling. The only person you need to impress is you.
I don’t know what to say. Ah, man. Watching this back was so special. Not just because I got an Outstanding Alumni award awarded by Nottingham Trent University on my birthday, but also because I didn’t cry during this speech. When I found out I got this award, I didn’t believe it. I thought it was a joke - honestly! To know that the place where my career started wanted to honour me in this way, with my loved ones present, truly was an indescribable feeling. I had to do something special to mark this occasion and did a speech in a way I’ve never before. To the graduates, you are more than capable of excelling in anything you put your mind to. You are leading your legacies in the present and the future. You are all destined for greatness despite going through a pandemic, trauma, pain, anxiety and all the emotions I also went through whilst studying. There are so many that I would like to thank for installing confidence in me to get to this stage in life but I have to praise my mother and my brother first and foremost for just being the woman and man that they are. I would have achieved nothing without them and having them, alongside my nearest and dearest, at the front of the ceremony beaming with pride was the real award. The marathon continues.

Getting started with a brand-new year ✅ LUSTER is more alive than ever before… Last year was all about changes ➡️ I’ve taken a step forward to collaborate more closely with my long-time partners, which I consider as Luster’s Core team. This single decision has shifted my perspective on collaboration, as I’m more open into sharing and giving more. And yes, it’s taking more time and effort from my end to align everything up. But for me, it’s a safe bet. The core team is made out of the most resilient, learning-craving persons I’ve ever met. Most importantly, they are amazing people in a personal level. As we set the path forward, they deserve recognition Santiago Axel Mc Allister Matias Andreozzi Lella Agustín Cabeza 🚩Talking about the culture we’ve built, we embrace bottom-up continuous learning. Everyone in their role can share valuable insights, regardless of the task. Sometimes, we find value on the little details that someone may find miscellaneous. As architects, we do care about details and go deep in our methods (for everything, no jokes) ✅Our workflow is increasingly dynamic. We admit our mistakes and make the necessary changes to avoid similar situations. This attitude shifts our view on previous “useful” work techniques, and allow space for new opportunities. 📈And Last but not least, Numbers don’t lie… We’ve completed more than one hundred projects in 2023. I’m amazed by the variety of projects we’ve received, and how they turned out. From Art Galleries, to big-scale Siteplans, we managed to get the most out of these projects To witness the combined efforts, have a look at our amazing portfolio here https://buff.ly/3O5GaSZ I wish you a great year ahead! LET’S GO 🚀

For those that know me, you recognize LEGACY as one of the Seven eLements of Leadership! Below Ryan Manion beautifully summarizes a commencement address that asked that very question. Be it through high school, college or your career, what will your LEGACY be? What will people (friends, team members and your family) remember about YOU?
Chief Executive Officer at Travis Manion Foundation | Host of The Resilient Life Podcast | Author of ‘The Knock at the Door’ | Former Supervisor, Doylestown Township | Keynote Speaker
Last night I walked on stage to a packed house at Temple University’s Liacouras Center to deliver the commencement address to the class of 2024 at Franklin Towne Charter School in Northeast Philadelphia. Earlier this month I was at Royal College of Art, at a round-table meeting with MArch Course leaders. As one of the practice-based mentors it was fascinating to hear of their new plans for an MArch Design Practice. Supportiveness is such an important value. Internally, in practical terms, at Bureaux Andrew Phillips, we try to balance teams and enjoy nurturing talent. Externally we’re eager to support the next generation of talent however we can. Several mentors were important ‘influencers’ on the way I approach the rigour that architecture requires. I only hope my mentees feel a similar benefit. Mentoring is a two-way street - I look forward to hearing more about the MArch course’s innovations with mentees from the first cohort in 2024. The planned focus on carbon, materials, detailing (!) and policy is really encouraging. These are relevant, constantly pressing, quickly evolving everyday-practice topics. It is so tantalising to think that graduates might feed new knowledge and skills in these areas into practice. It’s refreshing to witness the RCA challenging the conventions of current architectural training, and hosting collaboration across disciplines. This new course is only going to become more relevant, ensuring the mentees I work with can meaningfully contribute to the built environment.
