But these days rather doing a complete ground work we all are busy making corporate presentation and constantly compromising on connecting with doctors, field and market channels. Now is the right time to say NO Being brand manager it is very important to understand the importance of this one opportunity called *Fieldwork* rather than being busy on Screen. Brand building… Having made a career in a company like L’Oréal where research, innovation and brands are at the heart of everything, one becomes blind about all the daily knowledge one gathers. Here’s quick 10 points, I have learned about brand building (not in specific order): 1. Brands are more important than products and product launches should be driven by research and innovation 2. Brand’s vision needs to be crystal clear. It needs to resonate with customers and it needs to differentiate the brand from its competitors 3. The only way to grow and stay relevant is to create “must haves” or “star products” to build barriers to inhibit competitors from gaining relevance. 4. Brands must be treated like assets and you need to fight the pressure to deliver short-term financial results at the expense of the brand building. You need different tactical strategies to meet that pressure 5 Exceptional ideas AND even more exceptional execution is needed to break out of the clutter in order to bring the brand vision to life. Coherence of the execution is essential. “Good” is not good enough. 6. Brand needs to tell the same story everywhere - be it advertising, choice of the spokesperson, retail experience, service. 7. Know your customers in order to maintain the brand relevance. Lean on data. And lean on shop floor’s daily exchanges with the customers and all feedback you can collect that helps you to keep your finger on the pulse. 8. If your brand manages to create surprises to customers, you are on the winning side. Exceed their expectations, create relationships that last. Not once but repeatedly. 9. Integrity and honesty are keys. Never mislead your customers. If you make a mistake, correct it immediately and apologize. Be open in your communication. 10. Brands are everything. What do you think? I’m pleased to share that I’ve completed my program at LVMH! After such a deep dive into the brand strategy and marketing fields, here are some significant insights I'm glad to have under my belt 💡 • Brand DNA doesn't exist by itself, declared just once on the "About Us" page. It should be delivered to the audience thoughtfully and seamlessly on a regular basis - through the values, codes, content, and stories, from one campaign to another. • Brand expression (aka message) has to be clearly articulated and synchronized across functions of diverse teams. Whether a client is scrolling through socials, visiting a website, or coming to a store, they should be able to easily understand what your brand or its particular launch stands for. • It’s amazing how the initial idea might end up somewhere completely different. Also, when coming up with something new in the first place, the idea has to be developed immediately in a draft; otherwise, if it slips your mind, it’s gone forever. • Soft skills such as problem-solving, patience and discipline, paired with being creative and curious, are beneticial for aspiring professionals. • And finally, I love the motto: "We are diverse by essence, inclusive by choice, and it’s everyone’s business".
