Join us for our next FREE MEMBERS & SUPPORTERS ONLINE MEET UP!! 🌼😄🍎 Are you in a land-based community food organisation or setting one up? One of the biggest reason why these orgs fail is lack of knowledge or non-application when it comes to basic financials. You know how it goes - you are a volunteer, or in a meagre-paying social enterprise and you are wearing 15 hats in your job, and have to handle strategy, day-to-day operations, fundraising, social media, financials and so on all at once on limited resources and time? The stress of that alone is exhausting, let alone the actual 'doing'. Book your spot now to tune in on 26 June to hear from three people from the sector who can help steer you on a sound financial pathway. Nick Rose, Sustain's Executive Director has extensive experience in fundraising and revenue generation, (Sustain has raised sufficient funds to employ over 30 people since 2016). Nick will share some of his insights in the first part of this session. Then, along with Viktor Faulknor who is Wollert Community Farm Lead, plus Community Garden Australia's National Co-ordinator Naomi Lacey, all three will share key updates from each organisation in an open discussion. This event is free for members of Sustain and CGA! If you are not a member you can join via Sustain: The Australian Food Network website | Community Gardens Australia website. Book now via Humanitix - you'll discover the tips & tricks to economic stability for your food production not-for-profit, community garden, or social enterprise, with other fellow food growers. $10 full admission - General public | $5 concession | Free for First Nations, CGA members and Sustain members. https://lnkd.in/gb9gUH6g

In honour of this month's National Volunteer Week and Food for Good Week, we asked team experience participant Jason Mehta, "What's a corporate champion?" Here's his response! ProServIT “From the moment I was involved in my first Food Sort Team Experience at Food for Life back in 2018 I fell in love with the mission and the community impact of supporting families in need. I knew I needed to rally more people to get behind this incredible organization. Not only does FFL help families in need, they provide a valuable opportunity to corporate groups to give back the community and do something meaningful, getting a peak "behind close doors." Knowing that the impact of your efforts, as a team, stem to the success within community is incredible. Immediately when you go through a team experience at Food for Life, you are guided by staff and/ or who are passionate, full of energy, and working as one to showcase all the elements and hands that go into support. This organization has developed exponentially since the last time I came 5 years ago, and it’s clearly been supported by many local corporations and citizens driven to help with food sustainability and responsible food waste. For volunteers and teams who get to learn about food loss, food waste and see the food that is rescued on site, you’ll be amazed to learn how your experience contributes to reducing greenhouse gases, and feeding people in community. You will want to give a donation to Food for Life on experience day once you know just how much you would be doing towards a sustainable environment. I can’t speak more highly of an organization that is truly empowering the community and allowing a human RIGHT to everyone to put GOOD food on their tables." Looking to become a community champion? 🍲 Exciting News! Introducing Feed the Need! 🌟 I'm thrilled to announce the completion of my latest project, "Feed the Need" - a platform designed to bridge the gap between excess food from hotels and the needs of orphanages. 🏨➡️🏠 With Feed the Need, hotel owners can easily create accounts and input details about surplus food available in their establishments. This information is then made accessible online for volunteers and organizations to view and collect. Once food is collected, the platform automatically updates the inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and minimizing food wastage. 📲♻️ Key features of Feed the Need include: ✅ User-friendly Interface: Designed with simplicity in mind, making it easy for hotel owners to list their excess food and for volunteers to find available donations. ✅ Real-time Inventory Management: Utilized React to implement dynamic updates to the food inventory, ensuring that all data remains accurate and up-to-date. ✅ Secure Authentication: Implemented secure user authentication using React to protect sensitive information and ensure privacy for all users. ✅ Impactful Collaboration: Facilitated meaningful connections between hoteliers, volunteers, and orphanages, fostering a sense of community and social responsibility. I'm incredibly proud of the positive impact Feed the Need can have on reducing food wastage and supporting those in need within our communities. 🌍💙 I'm grateful for the opportunity to leverage my skills in React to develop this platform and excited to continue exploring innovative solutions to address societal challenges. 💡 If you're interested in learning more about Feed the Need or collaborating on similar projects, I'd love to connect! Let's work together to make a difference. 🤝 #FeedTheNeed #React #SocialImpact #FoodWastage #CommunityService #LinkedInPost #Innovation #TechForGood

A few ideas worth sharing and testing amongst this long list.
Equipping fundraisers with the skills that bring in bigger gifts and build stronger donor relationships | Fundraising Trainer and Consultant
There are actually three guarantees in life: Taxes Death And a board member saying ‘why don’t we put on a gala dinner.’ It’s the go to because it’s what people know and what they are used to. And it’s highly likely they’ve never worked ON a gala, so no nothing about the work involved. But there are other options. Here are ten event ideas other than a gala. 1. A project visit 2. Speed networking 3. A volunteering day 4. A panel discussion 5. Film screening and talk 6. A breakfast briefing: coffee, pastries, a talk, before work 7. Book launch and talk with author related to your sector focus 8. An interview with a staff member, beneficiary, board member or donor 9. PechaKucha: 20 slides for 20 sec of commentary covering aligned topics 10. Skill-share workshop: Dog shelter? Teach dog training. Environmental NGO? A composting workshop P.S. What events have you held that are not galas?
