Getting out of the office and giving back to our local community 🌱 For our teams around the world, Clarins We Care volunteering days are a chance to change things up and collaborate in new ways, all while contributing to causes that matter. 🙌 In the UK, we recently traded our busy London views to help maintain and tend to the gardens surrounding Haven House Children’s Hospice, an inspiring green space created for life-limited children by our long-standing partner GREENFINGERS CHARITY. ❤️ Here’s to rolling up our sleeves, come rain or shine!

Why I volunteer when I can… This was me yesterday, about to begin volunteering for the day with Seaful charity and the amazing events they host; connecting people with waterways and educating young people about ocean protection. I’ve been supporting Seaful and a number of other charities, since becoming self-employed and here’s my reasons why… 1) To stay connected with and support causes which I believe in, and which align with my own personal values. 2) To escape the ‘busy-loneliness’ of being self-employed (if you know, you know) and connect with cool people who share my values too. 3) To maintain a sense of balance, and not become swamped with the need for revenue-based activity all the time. 4) Because volunteering is cool 😎 and yes, it’s OK to feel good about doing it too. Question… Do you #volunteer and if so, what do you enjoy most about it? Why not volunteer your comments below (see what I did there!)… #volunteer #charity #leadership #connection #people #values #beliefs #bethechange #businessowner #selfemployed #stayconnected #bluespace #oceanprotection #coaching

How can we engage older people in volunteering? A 2019 report from the British Heart Foundation found that, across the charity sector, those aged over 55 are more likely to have not volunteered and rule out volunteering in the future, challenging the misconception that volunteering is for ‘lonely’ older people or those with time on their hands... So how do we recruit and encourage older volunteers? In a blog from 2020, our CEO Michelle Wright discussed this ever relevant topic. 💬 "By using innovative, inclusive approaches, older volunteers can maintain their contribution."
