Introducing Blair and Sian, the cofounders of Groove To Move. Dr Blair Kelly's time as an osteopath led him to recognise a common challenge among his patients: the toll of sedentary lifestyles. Determined to provide a solution, he joined forces with sister and Choreographer Sian Kelly and founded Groove to Move. An online movement program focused on using dance to target problem areas of the body and counteract all those hours we spend at our desks. Movement is life. It is not just a desire; it's a necessity. https://lnkd.in/gPPWM6iP

Over the years of therapy, different modalities and many different therapists, a common thread was discovered.... I detested ..... being put into a box, devaluing or encouraging me to disregard my inner knowledge and awareness. being expected to ignore my inner screams and "Just be happy" as if my screwed up brain wiring could automatically untangle itself and get inline with healthier patterns. If you are ready to look at what you desire, and reverse heal, with the end in mind, then now a door is opening. Tuesday evening, 6th February is the Clearing the Way to Declare Your Desires Masterclass. I have updated the sub-title to be Desires, Dreams, Thoughts and Lust. What are yours? Know them, Explore the blocks, fears and what is stopping you from diving in and co-creating your wildest life on Your Terms. Register your attendance https://bit.ly/47vXd8t

🚶♂️ Toe Raises for Balance and Stability 🚶♂️ Toe raises are a simple exercise to improve balance and strengthen your calves. Start by standing near a wall or sturdy surface for support, then lift your heels off the ground and hold for a few seconds before lowering. 💡 Tip: Perform toe raises in sets of 10 and gradually increase the number as your balance improves under supervision and safely. ✅ Fact: Regular balance exercises like toe raises reduce the risk of falls by 30%. · Source: American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) #PhysicalTherapyMonth #StrokeRecovery #BalanceExercises #FallPrevention

When you break a bone and are fitted with a cast, it is not the cast that heals your bone. Your own body is powerful and possesses everything that it needs to heal the bone. Similarly, your mind is powerful and has everything in it that you need to heal. You just need someone to help you access it and help you harness its power. Skilled therapists and coaches are able to use techniques to use your mind to heal past traumas, remove your limiting beliefs and reveal your greatness so you can be the best version of yourself. I recently completed a fascinating training in a technique developed by Dr. Deb Sandella which can help you Regenerate Images in Memory (RIM). It gave me undeniable proof of the incredible power of our mind and how we can use it to get to the core of who we are and why we are the way we are. And then use it to become the person we were always meant to be.

This week I gave two workshops ( one in Amsterdam; Body Series and one online for Polen (dance movement therapists) around Core Support and how this can positively influence our Sense of Self. In Dance Movement Therapy the Sense of Self is a subject that comes along often. When we work with somatic ideas (Bartenieff Fundamentals) we can work on these subject without over- focussing on the psychological or emotional state of our clients. By turning toward our personal experience of our bodies, change will appear when we tune in to somatic experience. The BF-Principle Active Weight Support and Shift supports the Stability/ Mobility relationship for efficient weight transfer and locomotion. Having access to one’s own weight helps us to feel our relationship to earth and empowers us to come into action. The Bf-Principle Core Support is connected to our experience of the essence of ourself and is linked to self- identity. Here our believes, intentions and fears meet our physical selves. We can attune our thoracic / pelvic/ muscular / skeletal/ organ connection to our potential to stand up for ourselves and come into purposeful action.
